When is the best time to harvest luffa??? There is a “sweet spot’ when it comes to harvesting luffa so its easier to peel and get to the sponge interior. If you allow it to dry out completely, its thin papery skin sticks to the sponge making it difficult to peel/clean. I find that it is so much easier to peel if harvested when it has just started to turn brown. If you have any tips/tricks to peeling luffa, please comment below.

I've done the hot water. I steam it for 10 minutes instead of soaking. Peeling it when it just turns is hands down the easiest method I've found. I'm not going back except for seed saving.
