Edible Landscape Time-Lapse : Meche’s “Living Room” Garden – Lafayette, LA | Urban Naturalist

In April of 2014, Urban Naturalist began constructing a “living room” inspired landscape to convert a bland turf setting into a vibrant and productive landscape with both edible plants and decorative plants. This is a time-lapse video of the process that it takes to create this business’ edible garden! Subscribe for more videos: https://www.youtube.com/marcusd?sub_confirmation=1

Surrounding a majestic Southern Live Oak, we are installing a variety of raised beds to suit the differing sun and soil conditions on site with an entrance framed by rare weeping mulberry. An entrance like that will really attract some attention and make people smile.

In the sunny area, we installed citrus and blueberries, lemon marigolds, lemongrass, and moving into partial sun we have a variety of peppers and artichoke.

For the shadier area, we are bringing back native azaleas and gray beard or fringe tree with masses of fragrant plants surrounding rocks to relax on.
