Are you growing your fall garden with me? Let me know!
I will most definitely be growing a fall garden this year! Last year was my first and we had a little hiccup due to that very cold spell that we had several times last year. But I will persevere!
I have enough seeds to get me through fall, but I didn’t realize that now is the time to begin growing them indoors! Thanks for the tip!
Btw, I plan on starting a subscription box in October. I believe you mentioned that you will have some indoor over-winter plants in that box? I definitely look forward to that. Winter can feel a bit empty without the garden.
Do seasons really matter in milder climates like Southern California? I'm actually in Hawaii and I always wonder if seasons matter here 🤔
Thank you so much. I'm planting a fall garden for the first time this year.
Fall garden is not a thing for our Canadian gardeners lol Summers are over 75F all the way through September and our frost hits right at the end of September so our best bet is starting now and hoping the vegetables like the 75F + or starting indoors and planting outdoors right in the first week of September but realistically you never know what happens in Alberta 😂
I am planting broccoli this week. I am planning a full winter garden.
Still posting great videos
Thanks for the video! I planted brassicas last week under lights and I would love to get your thoughts on thinning and transplanting from the little cells into larger cells. Do you thin them once the true leaves are out? Just one per cell? Also, are they like tomatoes that can benefit from transplanting to get the stem covered? Thank you so much
I love the artwork on your subscription boxes! I would buy a box just for that really cute artwork! 😃
Hi Kim. So far, I have Cantaloupe, Crookneck Squash, Navone Gold Rutabagas, Purple Top Turnips, Tokinashi Turnips, and Nagasaki Cabbage sprouted. I'm struggling with Hilton Cabbage, cucumber, and zucchini seeds, because of the heat. I moved them to a shady part of the yard, too much heat in the window sill and for direct sowing. I need a few days of rain and cloudy skies to resow Danvers. The soil temperature is too hot for germination. There are a few days of rain in the forecast, I'll try again Thursday. In two weeks, it will be time to sow seeds for Komatsuna, Pak Choi, shelling peas, and kohlrabi. A month from today, I will sow tomato seeds, Early Girl Bush, Debut Hybrid, Parks Whopper, and Tom Thumb for my winter tomato experiment. Talladega Alabama, zone 7B.
Fall is the best of all
