At least you didn't have a deer come in an eat all of your plants.
It's a bit expensive, but your yard would probably be perfect for a FarmBot. Of course, that probably wouldn't stop the weeds in the walk area or the overgrowth from the neighbor's yards, but would help when you go on long trips.
Yeah it's tough being gone for a month. well it seems like there were some mixed results with your plants. I didn't realize the browning leaf tips were a sign of over watering. I'm trying to keep outdoor plants and so far they are doing well. It's been so incredibly hot and I worry about over watering but I also worry about underwatering LOL ⭐⭐👍👍
I've been growing the tulsi/holy basil, & I have some in cups of soil, & in water. I was surprised they didn't die of root rot
