We were given a chayote and didn't know what to do with it, I went to get a potato from the same basket a few days ago and found the chayote had sprouted, so you really don't need to do anything. It's now sitting on the soil, I will plant it to get more. And in the mean time learn how to eat it

just buy a chayote from the market that has grown a root and leaf already, then just plant half of it on the soil/ground and let it grow..
