  1. I have another question about my zucchini plant-it’s only producing boy flowers- is there anything I can do to encourage the girl flowers to grow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks Jim and Stef I am a big fan 🫶🏻

  2. I bought that plant that you said was Polka dot from A old lady last year, just wanted to support her, I over winter in the house and took it out side in the spring now I see a baby polka dot plant in the container beside it ,doesn't know how that happen ,but am liking it

  3. I'm not a fan of Coleus, but that is beautiful! I looked up Stained Glassworks, and there are several different ones. Is it Stained Glassworks Velvet?

  4. Beautiful containers , Jim and Stephanie!
Like you were saying be careful about tge spiller plants. I had one and didn't notice it in my lawn. Jim, what can I do to get it out of my lawn? It was a variegated one , I think it's creeping charlie , only it's not variegated anymore. Other than tearing up my lawn, I don't know what to do to get rid of it.
    Thanks

  5. I had to scale back my containers this year. Between losing some that I can always overwinter (until this last year), the prices & my ability to water, I've kept my displays small. I've used Coleus, torenias & annual Salvias but your's look fantastic! Really like the Yucca & euphorbia combo, looks like fireworks!

  6. Did those containers come with drainage holes? I bought some containers today and they don’t have drainage holes. I have a drill! Does that work?

  7. That first yucca combo looks fantastic! It looks a bit like rays of sunshine teemed with night stars in the sky! That Stained Glass coleus is also a stunner!

  8. Thanks for sharing the beautiful containers, I love your use of Carex and have started a collection of different varieties. I'm in zone 8a in the Sandhills and have mostly full sun, do you think they will thrive in the full sun with our terrible heat? Hi to Holly.

  9. The container with the crapemirtle is my favorite. That sweet potato vine is stunning. I like the plant combination.

  10. My family down the road in Sanford can't keep the deer away. Their poor hostas are no more.

  11. The Crepe myrtle container 🤩🤩🤩🤩 not only are the plants beauties, but I adore the pot!

  12. I really enjoy your videos! I put date palms in my tall patio planters last year and ended up bringing them inside my smaller home to overwinter… our property is small with no garage space for plants and no outdoor sheds are allowed. Now I want to replace these with super tough cold hardy evergreens that can stay in place all winter. Any thoughts?

  13. The crepe myrtle and stained glass coleus are the winners to me.
Well Done for being creative and changing things around.
Those pink begonias can go, they take over and dont really add anything.
Grasses are such a delight in any pot.😊

  14. Hi, Jim: I enjoy container gardening and use primarily annuals now, but was thinking of trying small shrubs, as they make a bigger statement and could be less costly if I can winter them over. One issue in 6B New England is moving them to my shed where there is limited space. I really don't want to take a chance with pot breakage over the winter if they stay outside unprotected. Any ideas or suggestions on wintering over small shrubs in pots?

  15. Nice containers. My huge container full of Coleus and Cannas fell over yesterday during a storm😢 I lost some big coleus branches. I regret not taking a picture of it.

  16. Steph you design such unique containers. I watch several YouTube channels for gardens and nobody has containers like you! I really love them. I think the Yucca in the begging just blew my mind for everything else, it’s perfect! I also really enjoyed the thuja pot. I know Jim said the deers are coming after it but It’s still really gorgeous. Id like to find a whispy conifer that I could plant in the sun. My place just bakes and my plants have yet to get tall enough to create some shade.
Steph would you ever make a design video for your planters? Or just what the process is with you? I hear thriller and spiller but sometimes I wonder how do you figure out the combo because some things won’t fit together in a planter(my experience where the one plants roots duel it out with the others). I’m new to planters so I’m not sure what’s the best way to figure this all out. I even followed a proven winners recipe this year and did exactly what they said with fertilizer, water (with exception for rain )and they dueled to the death. All that’s left now is the thriller.
