  1. I love gardening and for me its not work. I like being outside and the feeling of accomplishment afterwards is great! I dreamed of this when I was working so now I can really enjoy every minute! I DO NOT go to malls! Love plant shopping though! 😄🥰

  2. If you enjoy what you do, it’s not work! Gardening, teaching, Cooking, golfing etc. I must have been an armadillo in my last life. Love to play with dirt. ❤️🪴

  3. Linda, how often should olive trees be watered? I’m afraid that in my 109 temps I’m overwatering mine!

  4. What a sweet daughter in law you have! You two are so cute together

  5. My best and favorite days are “working” in the garden. Plants are like best friends to me. They are beautiful, colorful, smell amazing (ok maybe some not so much 😆)m nurturing, bring me joy, peace of mind, comfort… Must I go on?

  6. I’m wondering Linda with
More trees in your backyard Will you have enough sun for your raised beds to grow vegetables and herbs?

  7. Nodding my head about gardening is not work if you love it. I find so much piece and joy putting about the garden and enjoying the wildlife around me.

  8. There are no easy skill in gardening…you have to do too much work… it's beautiful to see feels and smells ..for some. and the plants would love you back specially if it shows their grow curves beautifully… amazing thrill for gardeners. 😊❤️

  9. I completely agree, gardening is not work for me as it is my passion. Many people make fun of me, telling me that I waste my time in the garden, but I just smile and tell them what my parents always said, “to each their own”. 😊 Always love to see you thrifting, and what fun to do it with your daughter in law. She’s a sweetheart. 🩷🩶🩷

  10. People always comment on my garden photos that it’s “so much work” ! Yes, as a gardener I don’t think of it as work at all.

  11. Dear Linda: You may be interested to know that the white terracotta thing you found with your dother in low, is call a "botijo". A botijo is a quintessential spanish sommer device, used for containing water mixed with a little bit of anis. This combination and due to the particular shape of the vessel, garantee you a very refreshing drink experience in real hot temperatures! You just have to keep the botijo in a cool spot . You will be surprised of how much fun is to drink from it! I just to love drinking from it when l was a child in the torrid Madrid sommer times and I still have one now for decoration in Amsterdam where I live now.
I also would not understand my life now, without my beloved litle roofgarden and all the work that goes in it!!! It has become for me, a great therapy to heal at list a bit, the pain cause by the terrible affairs of this poor planet of ours… Thank you very much for your priceless gardening teaching lessons❤
Lots of love and peace from Amsterdam.

  12. I agree, most people dont get it and so thankful that I love it. Learned to love it as a child and it has been a reliable friend to me on and off my entire life. Now that I am retired and getting older, gardening is my best friend other than my husband because it ensures that I get sunshine, fresh air, exercise and reaching a mindful, meditative state. It is funny because I dont like to get dirty but the lure of gardening helps me forget that for a time and simply enjoy myself without such worries. So very thankful to have gotten it!

  13. I love to prune, weed, deadhead, plant, transplant, make changes….. I love it all! I love just being outside in the garden! Does that make me a true gardener? I hope so! I choose those chores over laundry for sure! Your videos are so inspiring and a lot of fun to watch Linda, THANK YOU! Your back yard is coming together beautifully! Can't wait to see a before and after!

  14. Totally agree. Life without gardening is no life for me. I spend at least 2 to 4 hours everyday in my garden and I just turned 80.

  15. About some Gardening being to much work If you love what you are doing it is not work❤(your front and backyard is gorgeous you should be extremely proud of all you have done to the Cottage on The Hill)🥰👩‍🌾

  16. I enjoy all well made collectibles lol/all colours of the rainbow. I mix boho cottage Victorian farmhouse you name it look for all well made expensive item to keep and resale.

  17. Linda have you seen a butterfly magnolia tree oh wow the flowers and their fragrance are wonderful. I bought one and placed it front yard so I can see it from my kitchen chair through my huge picture window in the livingroom. Look up ok butterfly magnolia

  18. OMG!!! You hit the nail on the head! I too am a gardener! Certainly not an expert, BUT loving every minute of my time in the yard! And coming indoors needing a cool drink and shower! Love your ideas and appreciate you sharing with all of us… thank you😘

  19. Hi Linda, the white ceramic urn with the two spouts and handle is a Spanish🇪🇸 Botijo. You use it to keep water cool specially in the summer. You fill it through the wide opening, then holding it from the handle, you lift it up higher than your face, tilt it and let the water pour in your mouth and drink! it is often shared so to keep it sanitary, you can NOT bring the spout it directly to your lips. Good luck! 😂

  20. The bit about the selection of the wine rack was amusing! For some, the mere suggestion one person has a preference for one thing over another…well, them's fightin' words. Regardless, of who chose what first. Refreshing to see a positive in-law relationship particularly among womenfolk.

  21. So I find myself going thrifting with my daughter and have to restrain myself, because I’m flying! Just love the adventure!
