  1. Sadly it's not the UK weather 😢it's weather modification, he who controls the weather controls the food and everything else 😢

  2. Emma, the dahlia you did not know the name of is called Blue Bayou and its an anemone dahlia. This was the first one i ever grew on my allotment. They are addictive and i now have 56 different ones. Unfortunately the badger got to the Blue Bayou and dug it up so i managed to save a shoot this year and its small but growing in a pot until i can plant it out again on the allotment. Shame they have no smell though.

  3. I live in Poland and the box tree moths are *really bad here this year, too. Luckily, I cut down my boxwood last year, so I have one less invader to deal with.

  4. I wouldn’t feel sorry for the box caterpillars…..they will destroy your other plans too. Monty Don removed all his box hedges!

  5. So glad I followed your advise to sow zinnia’s 🙂 The dahlia structure looks good!
Hoping you’ll get it published as a self help book, who cares what it’s called. I’ve never bought anything on Amazon, but I’ll try it to get your book if needs be. Thanks for all your hard work, enjoy the dahlia’s!

  6. Self publish Emma, you are amazing!
I don’t know if you remember but my daughter drew you a picture of your shed and the fox and sweetcorn. We both love following your journey x

  7. Well done Emma, go the self-publish route (or is that root haha). Publishers have always had too much influence on writers. Maybe you could use the magazine to write an article on the dificulties of home gardeners breaking into the book world? Anyway, your garden is looking great, and your love and creativity shows. Keep going, and don't worry about not knowing stuff, because a lot of the "horticulture" literature is based on a lot unproved "facts". The most important thing any of us to do for our gardens and allotments is to look after the soil by not digging every inch of it. Compost and mulching looks after the soil. Take a loo at how forests grow. X

  8. I've had all white sweet peas all white buddleia and this year all white sweet Williams I've been told it's down to pollination but don't know how true it is 🥰

  9. You need to put some thing over the cannes you used for the dalias or you can injure yourself if you forget they are there, be safe

  10. hi Emma ive bought your t shirt now always watch your updates 26 thousand people watch your channel now your doing great keep going

  11. Beatrix Potter, Mark Twain, Margaret Atwood, Stephen King, EL James—-all self published & then got picked up by the big guys! Just saying……Go For It! 🌸👩🏼‍🌾🌼

  12. Love your videos, the bee sleeping on the dahlia cushion ! Sooo cute ,hope you decide to self publish ,bestest of luck 😊 is that a word ! Who knows but wish you it anyway 😊

  13. Those canes are an eye injury waiting to happen Emma. You can use a range of things. Tops from fabric conditioner bottles, pro-biotic bottles, cat milk bottles and one of my favourites the plastic balls that you use in a kiddies ball pit. Just poke a hole in the bottom and stick it on the cane. They come in all colours if you are wanting to colour match.

  14. Some of my cosmos was the same as yours, I think it was Rosy Hardy who said only plant out when it's in bud so that's my plan in future.

  15. I'm looking forward to reading your book. Hopefully, it won't be too long before it gets published.

  16. Wack it out self published sounds like Emma style haha love it! But maybe stick with the publishers for one more try, you might hit the right publisher, gotta try them all it seems. It would be a great read, a real learning curve I bet.

  17. Self publish it Emma. I’m sure the publishers will regret their lack of faith in your work when you get an instant hit from all the people that follow your work on youtube and the other platforms, and the people that read kitchen garden magazine. I can’t see it failing👍😊

  18. As self help you might try a Christian publisher. Day by day and others use essays 365 each year!😊

  19. There’s nothing wrong with going the self-publishing route. I love reading about gardening and essays so I am pledging that however you publish, I will buy and read. Publishing, unfortunately, is a business and if they can’t make the numbers make sense, they’re not gonna do it. You have an audience already which is a plus. However you publish, I’m sure we’ll all be talking your book up to our friends and families as well.

  20. Emma, you really should self publish! With your exposure I’m sure you will sell many many copies and then the publishers will be coming to you next time.
