DIY Rock Landscaping. How To Make a Rock Bed.

In this video we will go through how to make a rock bed. I replaced my flower bed that was over grown with weeds and mulch. It wasn’t too difficult and I think the rock helps with draining water away from my house, looks better and has less maintenance.

  1. Great job! Question for you: when you blew away the dry leaves, it seems like you had just soil underneath. What do you do if underneath you have grass? (I'm a beginner at this) TIA!

  2. I have a side yard about 60ft long and 16 ft wide. This side yard faces the street. I live in city on a corner lot. My side yard has a slope of 26 I think and was thinking of taking out dirt to level it out and add concrete (but too expensive)
So do you think adding pebbles like u did would be good and probably way cheaper than a slab of concrete?? Right now there is grass but we don't use the side of yard for anything. If I level it out with rocks I may put my shed there and some other stuff too and plant some pretty bushes or flowers to make it look good.

  3. Looks good! 👍🏽 I’m working on a similar project with cinder soil in my yard 🤙🏽

  4. Nice job! I appreciate the added effort recording doing a project while doing the task…and with the kids, too. Appreciate your sub and right back at ya, brother…good luck!

  5. It looks good; but unfortunately you still have a problem….Trees and leaves. You should just cut down some of the trees. Its gonna be an endless process either way. the leaves will get trapped in the rocks after settling on the rocks for a while and become dirt and things will try to grow between the rocks. The initial process looks good but I personally like to appreciate my hard work without having to do too much maintenance considering that's why you placed rock in that area. I didn't have a tree issue with my yard but i had a bush that bloomed some flowers which was fine but the leaves would cover a decent portion of my flower bed that was mulched and the leaves would come to the entryway of my doorway which using the leaf blower was a better way to go. Of course small vegetation still occasionally try to grow here and there which i pluck out but nothing too back breaking.

  6. I'm surprised you never used a weed membrane dude??
Good job though. Really cool look

  7. Awesome getting the little ones involved! I’d recommend a weed barrier, but this project turned out nicely! 👍🏼

  8. let me know what you use to keep weeds out in the second and third year as I can not stop my weeds from growing without about 40 hours of labor in the spring through fall . I use a gallon or round up every three weeks

  9. Well since nobody gonna mention it, that’s gonna be good for a few months, it’s gonna be full of weeds and grass in a few months.
