Small Space California Vegetable Garden

You would be shocked at how many fresh vegetables you can grow in a tiny suburban garden. I have roughly 80sf of growing space, but I was able to supply my family of 5 with tons of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, corn, bell peppers, fresh herbs and so much more.

I built a new potting bench for the garden, and since my BBQ is currently in Cooper’s (my dogs) bathroom area, I thought both needed a new home. So, for these two reasons alone I thought it was a good time to redesign my vegetable garden. The remodel would also give me a chance to space out the beds, add some fresh pea gravel and add a pollinator bed. As you know, getting pollinators to the veg garden is VERY important!

The centerpiece of the entire garden is a beautiful garden obelisk which I built for just $18. I didn’t want to build any old garden obelisk….I wanted something more modern, so I built a modern-style garden obelisk. It was very simple to put together, and I have a full step-by-step video here:

If you want to see my perennial garden, you can check that out here:

  1. Nice work, this looks like a great set up. And got right in there and planted again. Those Persian Vic’s are fringe producers
