Pikmin 4 Review

Pikmin 4 reviewed by Jada Griffin on Nintendo Switch

“Like the three wonderfully weird mainline games before it, Pikmin 4 has once again captured my heart with its charming creatures that fearlessly follow commands regardless of their own well-being. The difficulty leaned a bit too much towards the easier side, but all new features like ability upgrades, a pair of new Pikmin, and our loyal sidekick Oatchi add some variety to the traditional gameplay by offering options other than the grab-and-throw Pikmin formula of the past. Coupled with the largest number of enemies to battle, treasures to collect, and awesome post-game content that incorporates some great callbacks to the earlier games, I’m left with not just a positive outlook on Pikmin 4, but the direction the series is heading as a whole.”

  1. The "accessibility" features here really are the antithesis of what Pikmin has always been about.

This game abandons what made the series great

  2. Pikmin is my favorite series on nintendo, hopefully it becomes more popular so nintendo releases more Pikmin games.

  3. Everyone please give the demo a try! It’s a big demo and you won’t regret it. This is, in my opinion, the best pikmin yet! If it does well we should see another leap in the formula.

  4. No co op mode in this one? That is unforgivable. Pikmin 3 had a phenomenal co op mode. No purchase for me. No difficulty settings, no co op, no online…. How did you score this a 9?

  5. This reviewer doesn’t know how to review. So damn boring. This review is not legit. Sorry

  6. There's a reason why we never see any living people in the world of pikmin. Something happened to them

  7. Looks exactly like Wii Pikmin, no graphical improvements whatsoever. 👎

  8. Just finished the main quest…

So disappointed that the “end game” as the reviewer mentioned is effectively just a new level.

No new game plus. No hard mode. So disappointed.

  9. “Well my heart grew two sizes that day”. Nintendo is out here giving games journalists Cardiomegaly

  10. I've been aware of the series from the very first game but this is the one I'll buy and play. It looks great!

  11. My only 2 things I’m not a fan of is you can only use 3 types of Pikmin at once and there is basically no end game content beside exploring empty areas.

  12. How did you get 9999 of every Pikmin type? There’s only a finite number of monsters to convert to seeds, so once all 6 areas are cleared, all that’s left to grow Pikmin are Pellets.

  13. Not to bash the game, cause it was great, but the main game bosses felt like mini bosses. I'm hoping the post-game content will be better.

  14. The free demo is actually HUGE and gets past the long intro the reviewer mentions into the flow of the actual game. Everyone should play it!

  15. Tiny spoil.

The best and probably the very last game for Olimar. Time to go home. 😢😊❤ 🌎

  16. IGN – Why can't your videos be in 4k, or at least 1440p? This 1080 resolution is so old now…
