  1. Melamine is a good material for casting concrete. However it will absorb moisture as you mentioned. So one might get only 3 or 4 castings per mold. But if the edges were treated with penetrating epoxy, more castings would be possible. I'm guessing as to the number of castings you might get, but I would bet the epoxy would help. Another material might be HDO or high density overlay plywood. Some types are made for casting concrete and are meant to be reused many times.

  2. AND So How DoS SomeOne Do All This Without All The Tools You Have and Use, Just WING IT I Spose Hey. Id Suggest you Start MASS PRODUCIN THESE and Selling Them ALL AROUND THE WORLD NOW So I Can Buy A Few And Make My BOX I Can Handle The Concrete Part.

  3. Thats Not Concrete Its CEMENT, Concrete Has GRAVEL In It you Know Small STONES that Look Like the Stuff you Find in Some Driveways or at the Local Landscape Depot. They should Already Have these Concrete Slabs Made and Sellin in WALMART.

  4. Just bought your PDF for this version of concrete forms and I'm planning to pick up lumber. Going over the plans I noticed the side pieces of the form are 48.5" while the base is 48". Curious as to why the extra 1/2" on the sides? At 48.5" I can't buy 8' boards and cut once to halve the 8' into 48" side pieces. Maybe I'm missing something in the setup?

  5. You can build much more with these blocks, like fence, retaining wall, even a small room with concreted roof. Thumbs up 👍👍👌

  6. If you want to make a bunch of these then you could also make a silicone mold of one that just sits inside of a wood rigid form. That way you never have to disassemble the wood form, you just dump the silicone out of it and peel it off the concrete piece and put it back in.

  7. Great video. I recently saw a person offering these concrete walls / beds utilizing a plastic mold that he creates the walls with. I wish I knew where they got it the plastic mold from because I have a ton of beds to replace.

  8. I know this is an old video but I was wondering if the house cat is necessary?
What I mean is will it work if I have Beagles instead?

  9. Just a couple of thoughts based on your Q&A. You could sink the rebar just below the surface of the top, and put some sort of plug in the hole to stop water leaking in. A plastic button, wood button, stepped dowel or other to tap into the top. Next, if you don't want things to move much especially if stacking 2 high, you could use some adhesive between the layers, but then it won't really be moveable.

  10. Hey Kent, thanks for your work and designs, you can tell you've put a lot into your channel. Have you ever thought of putting a radius on the ends at the connecting rods so you can make octagons or other than right angle designs ?? I'm sure it would probably cause the use of more caulk since your bound to have more space between the forms, but it might be worth a try. Any way thanks for the consideration .

  11. Отличная идея, спасибо. Можно форму сделать из полистирола. Многоразовую

  12. Thanks for this. My neighbor and I put the molds together this weekend.

Pulled my first piece out of the mold today…
    Looks great.

Added a little coloring to the water and a custom pattern to the insert.

  13. How many bags of concrete does it take to make one bed with just the 4 pieces? Also on the sides the 2×6 what do you cut them down to?Thanks😊

  14. don't know why this was in my sidebar suggested videos but this and part 1 are really well done! Learned a lot and want to go make some now myself

  15. Куча дорогущего инструмента. Далеко не у каждого такой и в таком количестве есть, тем более в России. Проще готовую форму купить. А ограждение для грядок хорошее.

  16. You are very talented and super thorough. Great designs and craftsmanship. I also noticed that you took people's complaints as "constructive criticism" and instead of getting mad you went to work to improve your craft! Good job!

  17. the snarky bass comment at the end WITH the bass added makes this man an american hero. i am one of many (apparently) who laughed about the bass on the last one.

  18. Thank you for publishing this. Great detail, alternative construction methods & materials! Your design really solves several problems with other materials. Terrific job! I'll integrate this into my garden

  19. using 2x10s for the bottom and 2x8s for the tops makes for 16 1/2" rather than 16", and no ripping is necessary.

  20. You, my friend, are golden! Thank you so much for the thoroughly guided beautiful animation 🅰️➕️
You are like a beloved instructor or a museum narrator. Very calming to meditate to. ☯️

  21. So what part of the country are you in? I ask because I wondered if you had any winter cracking issues when the soil freezes and expands. I love the concept.

  22. I know this is a super old video, but has anyone calculated the total cost to build the molds, and then the cost of materials to cast the panels? Would love to know!
