Fall is almost here in Wisconsin, and if you’re interested in starting your own vegetable garden and becoming more self-sufficient, then check out this video. Get ready to start your own garden and grow along with us. Right now we are getting to the best time of the year to start thinking about a new garden for the upcoming spring. Tilling the ground and loosening the soil is a great first step to be ready for growing your own produce. This single step will open up the soil and allow for more oxygen and water to reach a deeper level of soil. This is also a good time of the year to get rid of your extra grass clippings from your final mows and leaves once they have fallen from the trees. If you have any compost, this would also be a good time to add it to your future garden site. Getting a good supply of nitrogen organic materials is a great way to start for a healthy green plant. Of course we’ll need a couple other ingredients if the soil is lacking, but we can add some fertilizer in the spring to make those changes if necessary.
Unfortunately for us, we have a tree stump to get rid of before we can begin our ground work, but once that is gone, we can focus on the important first step of being prepared for next spring. Were using the Yanmar VIO35 to help remove our troublesome stump.
