I don't have a plot but have a pretty good sized garden so I grow here at home. None of the allotments around here are suitable for a powerchair sadly π I love your videos, thankyou so much π
My runner beans have gone cray this year tooxx
Hey Emma, on your tomatoes, if you pick them green, and slice them to about a 1/4 inch and fry them like you would an eggplant. You will never grow another eggplant again. They taste wonderful.
I must say, your garden looks wonderful.
You are an absolute breath of fresh air x
Hi Emma your plot is looking good, big pat on the back, I have grown dwarf runner beans called jackpot for the past 2 years, you get loads with 3 different colours of flower, saves me a lot of bother putting up frames π
Hi Emma, try putting a ripe (shop bought) tomato and a banana in the polytunnel. Hopefully they will emit a chemical to tell the others to ripen. Saying that tho i still think theres time for them to ripen on their own.
I also think your pumpkins are fine. The older leaves often die back to support the fresh growth π
Came for the gardening, stayed for the chaos. This is my kind of gardening.
Did you sow your californian poppies? Any tips?
Eat them all, you deserve them
Hi Emma you do great. Can I just suggest for next year when your runner beans get to 6 feet you pinch out the growing tips so they bush out more and stop growing taller so the growth concentrates itβs energy below for beans. π
Bananas didnβt work for me made no difference but if they have just started to get a slightly lighter green then they will ripen on windowsill if they very green they will stay green if picked
Where are all the leaves on your blueberry bush? Feed it ericacious compost thatβs what blueberries need
In a box with banana
Lovely plot and gorgeous pumpkins..so cute! I heard hear ripens tomatoes so you could close your ploytunnel door to retain it? Building a wigwam is better for runners too but your bungee cord should hold it for a bit. Happy plotting xπ»π₯¦ππ₯
Normally in a brown paper bag and on a windowsill makes them go red as well x
Keep up the fine job, Your doing great.Thanks.
My tomatoes are the same and I have tried everything π
Chop the top off the runner beans. You did it to the tomatoes, so it's only fair!
For your tomatoes, I found that my sun gold cherry ones were turning fine but my normal toms were struggling to turn. Did a bit of reading and the main thing that cropped up is temperature and not being warm enough. Mine are all in a very small poly tunnel and kept it closed up other than when I watered and voila they are turning red β€x
Sweet cherry pie Angel love you keep it up !! ππ
Another great video and another great super nice gardener
Emma i love watching your videos! has anyone ever told you that you remind them of Catherine Tate? It's one of the reasons why I watch your videos! your humor is refreshing and i love that you show your failures as well as your successes!
i live in the states so i don't have the chance to get an allotment but one day i do hope to have my own garden and i'm sure mine would look just like yours when i first get started!
It was great, thank you for your hard work dear friend for this great entertaining movieππππππππππππππππβ€β€β€β€β€β€
For the runners I do a doble row. A row of pairs of sticks tied at the top to form a triangle with a stick as brace along the top and diagonal braces at at the sides. They are always solid and never move.
Your face when you eat the blueberries π«. I would suggest putting your blueberry in a pot with ericaceous compost
Fab vlog Emma fingers crossed the toms go red for you π₯°
I have lots of green tomatoes, a few that are turning so I picked a few and more are following, I just placed them in a dish on the window sill. I also topped them and fed them.π we haven't had a great summer this year and we should have had a harvest of plenty by now, so your not alone honey we keep trying
Honestly to god you can place a banana on the plant itself without removing the tomatoes and itll do the same thing! My friend's currently doing it with hers that have failed to turn and within a day they had started to turn. Have faith in the banana. Its a chemical they give off thats the same as tomatoes. So they think other tomatoes around them are ripening and sets it off naturally on the plant.
Just discovered and subscribed to your channel. You're doing an amazing job. I love how you are growing the pumpkins and will try your method next year.
This is your BEST video… perhaps the most fun gardening video i have seen…. i love your authentic love for your plot πππ
Emma every year my runner beans fall over. No matter how well I construct or how much string I use (I've even tried tyre ties) once they get going we have a gust of wind from the wrong direction and the whole lot go wonky & wobbly….you are not alone
A sunny windowsill will not help the reddening of the toms, Emma. The sun plays no part in ripening – it is all down to the release of ethylene gas (you hit on it with the banana in a bag!)
Nice video beutiful
Take some of the leaves of the bottom off as well.
It's normal for Blueberries to take 4 years to start producing. Give them a good ericacious feed in spring and you can give them on late autumn too and you'll hopefully get a bigger bumper crop next year
