Black Spot Rose Disease – Treatment | Die Black – Save Rose Plant

Save Rose plant from Die Black Disease. Today’s video is on the commonest rose plant diseases and remedies which is the black spot rose disease. They are actually a rose fungus disease typically caused from moist and cooler weather. Blackspot disease is one of the most common diseases of rose bushes; and, if left untreated, it can cause damage to your rose plants. The causative organism is the fungus Diplocarpon rosae.
Black spot rose disease is featured by black spots or brown spots on the upper side of leaves. This Fungus spreads quickly and can move from plant to plant if intervention is not done quickly. So, these are the 5 important steps to control black spot rose disease.
Please Watch Video for Step by step treatment.
Now before moving on to the actual remedy for black spot rose disease, we will get to know the distribution and pattern of this black spot or brown spot rose disease:
• They are Circular black spots or brown spots on the leaves.
• The lower leaves tend to be infected first, and then it spreads quickly to the whole plant.
• Then it causes leaf yellowing and the yellow leaves fall off.
• Then eventually the plant becomes weaker and it either blooms less or stops blooming.
Many recommend spraying with broad spectrum chemical fungicides like imidacloprid, mancozeb which is a component of SAAF powder and other like trifloxystrobin, Ziram, chlorothalonil and many others. Even Copper and Sulfur fungicides work great for black spot rose disease treatment. I think you can reserve this if your conventional organic treatment fails.

What I recommend is an Organic Solution – that is NEEM OIL SPRAY. 5ml neem oil in 1 liter of water weekly twice for 2 weeks and then maintenance dose of atleast monthly once or once in 15 days.

Hi, im so greatful to found your channel as I just transplanted a few new roses from cutting into my garden… I've been watching almost all of your video to get better knowledge about protecting my plants. Would like to know, if i can use normal vegetable oils instead of neem oil? 12. @GARDEN TIPS in the solution for the black spots you only use neem oil and water or do you add soap to the solution?

  13. My rose is going through this again this year. I even scooped the mulch away and added new mulch just in case. It was so vibrant n healthy for a couple yrs prior. 😕 I recently cut it back n thinned it out bc fungi crept up on it again, I have even pulled branches apart so no branch touches the other. I sprayed with a fungicide, but it’s not fully under control. Humidity has been 60-70% every day, temp 85-95. Does fungicide kill the fungus or prevent fungus? I left a few bad leaves on thinking it was okay. No? I also added a layer of compost to help strengthen it. It’s planted in the ground.
    Thank you.

I treated my roses with baking soda, vinegar, vegetable oil, mixed in a spray bottle with water for fungus, or black spot, and since by then I have black spots ( not the regular fungus black spot) on the tips of my roses. Did I maybe mix too strong, is one particular thing causes it that I used? Thanks, John
