Hopefully you are doing better today!!🌷
**This was filmed 30 minutes before I tripped and fell in the garage and broke my kneecap trying to leave to go see my mother. With the heat, lighting (dark as a dungeon in the house), noise (sorry about the cicadas!!) I ran late and was rushing. That's when bad things happen. Watch where you are stepping, don't trip, and be safe, my friends! Six hours editing and not only my knee is hurting, LOL!
Miss Kittrell is a Sweet Tomato who really knows her tomatoes, wow that's a lot of different kinds of tomatoes!
Great studio! I'm definitely growing Hungarian heart, and the white tomato next year.
How fun and delicious! I love tomatoes and grow a lot too. That Hungarian and the white just may be two I grow next year. Thank you Kaye for this demo. I really enjoyed it.
So glad you were not in pain when you filmed this video as I kept thinking as I watched that shouldn't she film this sitting down to help her knee. You are not going to believe it but I am still waiting for my first ripe tomato – that's what planting them too late does for you. Thanks so much for documenting your experience and tasting of the numerous varieties you grew this season which is so helpful to new gardeners. Sending prayers that your knee continues to heal and that your mom is doing ok. Blessings always..
Hope you are healing..my cousin sending me comfrey..very excited
Thank you Kaye for this video. I know what I'm going to plant
next year😂
Such much to know. I want thank you for great video. Take good care.
Pricipe Borghese also makes an amazing sundried or dehydrated tomato. They are prolific even with disease!
I liked this video and learned quite a bit I plan on growing the white one if i can find some seed? Yellow Jubilee is till my fav tomato and the pear tomato is my favorite tiny one! But then again been growing them over 50 years lol….
I got a story about a cherry tomato that made me cry with pain at the restaurant! It was the craziest thing, all because I forgot tomatoes were acidic!
Jet Star was developed atUK for Kentucky. My favorite tomato is Big Beef. It’s a hybrid( I think) it keeps really well after you pick it.
Thank you for this taste test/ assessment of the tomatoes; this was very helpful! 😊
Have you seen the "mushroom basket" tomato? I wanna try that one.
I've been growing tomatoes in middle TN for years. The yellows that grow best for me are Dixie's Golden Giant and Amana Orange. The red slicers that do well consistently are Watermelon, Abe Lincoln, and Dester. I will be trying Hungarian Heart next year. Hope your knee is recovering well.
Loved the video. You did accomplish your goal to inspire, educate and entertain on these varieties of tomatoes. May have to try the Hungarian Heart. I love tomatoes. I usually try one or two new ones every year. I did try the Costoluto Genovese and was not all that impressed. However I did have it in a pot, because I ran out of room. The birds liked them. I will try them one more time before writing them off.
❤😊❤
Nice video! Thanks for the recommendations!
Ohhh Kaye…thank you so much for the night sounds of the Cicada's. How I miss those night sounds in the N. Ga mountains where I lived!!! That is the sound I fell asleep to every night. For people that don't know….yes, that is how loud they are. Then put fire flies galore flitting around…..ohhhh how I am so jealous! Hope your knee is on the mend. I have learned (the hard way) that my eyes and brain work slower than my body. My body could move fast but my eyes and brain don't move fast enough to help me avoid tripping traps or corners of furniture etc. I also only plant one variety of tomato. It is an Heirloom seed saved from this next season will be 33 years) I started some plants for my neighbor this year and they told me they are the best tomatoes ever. Also you look stunning as always.
Italian Roma tomatoes are cobsidered aning the very best for making tomato sauce ❤
before i even start the video these are my Favorite to watch from u 😍
My winner this year is called the "Mortgage Lifter". Meaty and delicious! Mmmm, mmm, mmm! I saved some seeds for next year.
Today's high here on the Oregon Coast 65 F.
I grew some Russian Striped Tomatoes, in a few days I will be picking them and trying them for the first time.
I usually grow Bakers Creek tomatoes (mushroom basket my favorite) but for sauces I grow Burpees award winning tomato for sauce – Super Sauce , largest paste tomato known. Hardly any seeds.
A lot of hard work went into growing those gorgeous tomatoes.Thank you for sharing your beautiful collection with us. God Bless. 💕
Great video Kaye….maybe you should look into growing some non heirlooms that are disease resistant since you get all the rains. There is a YouTuber that lives in North Carolina he grows some awesome F1 varieties for high humidity areas…just a thought
You've made me hungry! I've got a Cherokee Purple tomato on the counter calling my name! I made a boatload of tomato juice this year and have been enjoying a glass each morning with my breakfast. Mmmmm so GOOD! The outtake at the end of the video tickled me!
