  1. Hello Linda, new follower here!👋 Can I ask, What color did you paint the room that faces north with the new windows? I have a north facing room and I’m having a hard time picking a color that will make the room look warm and cozy rather than dark and drab. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much tor your time!❤

  2. You are so inspirational and positive. You include your viewers so well. The front of the cottage is stunning and so full of spaces. The backyard is so interesting and intentional. Just such a great channel. Thank you for your hard work. You are a lovely person. ❤

  3. I absolutely love your fairytale cottage! I love the rounded edges on the roof. There are no such roofs in our city in Virginia — at least none I’ve ever seen — but I’d love to have one. Our house looks storybook-ish, with an arched front door. Love yours!!

  4. When you make your latticed cooking area around the grill, you might consider making a latticed box frame that can be hung on the brick to cover all the utility boxes. It could be hinged on one side so the meter reader, etc. could swing it open to access them. And hubby could hang BBQ tools on it. Serves two purposes.

  5. Where is the link for those black plant shelves? I didn’t see it on your amazon list. I’ve been looking for one like the larger one. Thank you❤

  6. It looks spectacular, I can’t wait to see the plantings to finish it off! There have been many comments regarding the rain barrel…..it seems to need to stay in that corner because of the gutter/drain placement, is it possible to paint it the “Linda Vater Cottage Grey”? I think once all your plantings are in it will fade into the background. Your design talent is fantastic! 🤗

  7. String lights thru the three trees on the neighbors side and thru the trees on the street side would look good. Twinkle lights in the topiary azaleas on either side of the garage door and the olive trees at the back would round out the lighting and not compete with the solar candles.

  8. Also! Think about a lattice surround for the ac and wall panels. Turn the grill against the panel which gives it a permanent spot with out having to pull it away from the house. A light (that i know you will find to compliment the surround) could be mounted to shine over the grill. Then a shelf could be attached to the wall to hold trays etc when cooking .

  9. Linda, you once again are creating a thing of beauty! Love your new windows but I kept thinking, oh don't bump your head! Maybe just make sure the table you place there is deep enough to prevent that for you and your guests. Thanks for all the happiness you bring!

  10. Linda, Don’t stain your shed Cottage Grey! It’s a lovely clear light cedar color and its warmth adds to the symphony of brick, wicker, rattan and stone. It’s light and lovely. Keep the contrast. You know the old design rule of both warm and cool tones make for a more interesting space. Cheers!

  11. Did anyone catch what she said she used in the backyard instead of grass — gravel and what else? Thanks.

  12. Just a thought about the gate. When designing your porch railings, also use the iron to incorporate design for the gate. Creating a flow w/sass & privacy. cgzone8

  13. Good morning Linda ☀️ Enjoyed the video today ❤️😊 The patio/backyard is going to be so beautiful when it's all finished ❤️❤️ It's beautiful beautiful now 💖💖 Have a great day ❤😊

  14. We have string lights that go from the corner of our roof, then to a center post in the middle of the yard then to a final roof structure at the other side of the yard. The sway adds to the "party" atmosphere of the yard. I love it more than merely strung on the fence. Everything looks so lovely, Linda!

  15. Stuart had the perfect timing! And voice quality, for his "Right after the break". It was so high-production-value. (I appreciate stuff like that)

    Linda:
    Behind the grill:
Have a freestanding, framed trellis built, to stand an inch or less off the panels; grow a dense, evergreen climber on it, as a façade to mask the panels?

  16. Absolutely gorgeous garden I love everything, the brick rug, love that and especially your mature shade trees I had to cut mine down due to hurricanes and I'm really upset about that I miss my tree canopy. I am sure you will enjoy and treasure your beautiful shade trees.

  17. I can’t find anywhere online where Hapi-gro Landscaper Mix is available. One site said that Scotchman’s Landscaper Mix is the same thing. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks!

  18. Linda, progress continues in the heat! The Green Mountain buxus you mentioned as container plants outside the back door…are they dwarfs? Because I have Green Mountain buxus here and they are 7' tall and 5' wide. Also, consider placing the flagstones a bit closer together to the garage and side alley. The new casements were a great idea.

  19. If you do the pointed conifer it’s very symmetrical and will EXAGGERATE not hide the fact of the uneven wall and fence.

But Miss Linda THANK YOU for your content and Stuart I love your editing and filming!!!

  20. Will your azalea topiaries overwinter outside? I am in Oklahoma also and have one in a pot that I am trying to make into a topiary. I didn’t know if I can keep it outside or if I need to bring it in.

  21. This episode has so much information that I’ve it seen 3x’s.
Thank you for educating and entertaining me with your kindness and wise words.

  22. Love those raised planters! Now I want some. I think they would look good against the brick garage too. Pull your Vater Cottage Gray to the brick wall. I'm interested in raised beds because I'm getting up in age. Easier in so many ways

  23. I stay in awe of everything thing that your mind imagines!! I can not criticize a single thing. Love the windows..weren't sure what you were talking about but they are perfection. You are just amazing!!!

  24. No no please dont do anything to cover up any of those gorgeous steps! I even am wondering if you want handrails? Maybe you have to but those steps are so beautiful and are definitely a focal point as they well should be! Loving the brick rug too backyard looking great! 👍👏🙌
