In today’s episode we look at how to grow purple tomatillos. We will be growing our purple tomatillos in containers. We use a potting mix consisting of peat moss, perlite and compost. Once plants are well established, tomatillo plants need fertilizer. Use a vegetable or tomato fertilizer for tomatillos. They do well with good watering. Depending on the temperatures in your area, water well. During hot sunny days your tomatillo plant will need a lot of water, maybe every day. On cooler or cloudy days, water less frequently. Tomatillos grow well when drip irrigated with a constant supply of water. You will learn a lot of tomatillo growing tips in this episode. Purple tomatillos are nutty and have a delicious flavor.
