  1. Easy to grow? HA!
    1. 80 to 90 degree temperatures are best for germination.
    2. In cooler areas, wrap seeds in wet paper towel. Keep in sealed glass jar in the home in a warm spot. Towel should remain wet until germination.
    3. After germination ( 5 to 9 days) plant in warm soil (early June) with sprout just under surface of soil. Water often.
    4. Offer a trellis of 6 to 8 feet for growth. It LOVES to climb.
    5. Marry a Filipina who knows how to prepare and cook this interesting treat!

  2. really easy to grow all we did was take the seed from the bitter melon that we got at a chinese grocery store and planted it in a pot, And we were surprised how easy it was and in a climate that don't get much warm weather. Our summer is usually is july-september like 2 months are spring sometimes its really cold and do get snowfall. We have hail storms during summer as well i remember this year we have hail size of slightly bigger then BB gun pellets maybe 2 or 3 BB gun pellets together

  3. and it was coming down really hard that all you see out the window was white barely see anything. And now that its september here we always bring the bitter melon back home so the chilly nights don't kill the plant. I am surprised it can be grown in calgary.

  4. show me how can start ? summer is usually is july-september like 2 months are spring sometimes its really good time?

  5. Here in ottawa, city ontario, i started the seed indoors around March. Mine was put in the ground around June, and I harvested my first ripe one August 15th. I also harvested 5 of them today for stir fry. I have videos of how I grow it, i think my seed starting tips was in my blog, and yes, it can be grown here in Ottawa. Contact me if you need help starting the seeds indoors. Some seeds are dud – so keep trying. This year I save seeds from my own plant. Yay!

  6. why you don't put some parallel vertical and horizontal woods and let the bitter melon to go up
