  1. I ordered a candle wick snipper and snuffer today because of you! I used to wonder why we needed them. Thanks for your candle lesson.

  2. Oh my, my; we garden gals are so much alike. I thought for sure I was the only silly person to get up and hit the garden to check on something and enjoy the early morning
birds in beautiful song and get so mad at myself for not getting dressed before I grabbed cutters and you know the rest of the story. WOW, I had a good chuckle listening
to you, Linda! Thank-you so very much for sharing all that with us. I feel so much better now! (I especially laughed harder when you shared how you forcibly humbled yourself
    into apologizing to Hubs😂.)

  3. Yes I do Linda. !!!! I will start watering and find it’s 10:0010:30 when I come in ….then my PJs are all sweaty so your not alone . A Garden Fiend. 🧟‍♀️Lol.🌻🌹🥀🌺

  4. Omg Linda, one early Sunday morning I was outback in my pj red hot at that and I heard very loudly Calinente from the neighbor behind me. Needless to say hubs put up green screen around the interior of the fence. Lol

  5. Linda. Is there a section in your journal for garden chores ? i.e. pruning , spraying , fertilizing.., I like to keep a to do list in the garden as well as when to start which seeds indoors in the spring

  6. When my daughter was still home, she insisted that the number of candles lit be written on a note pad on the kitchen table. Then as we blew them out, each one was counted.

  7. OMG, I was once walking around in the garden in my underwear one morning and a delivery truck pulled up and I had to hide behind the garden shed until the delivery man left!

  8. I have a hard time getting my pj’s off because I like to hang around and slowly get started. I’d like to be jumping up and getting going but mornings don’t work for me 😮

  9. I have found that when one is over tired and says something “hurtful “ to a loved one , that the damage is not that something hurtful was said,,, as much as that the something hurtful was “ developed “ … so the victim is more thinking 🤔 well “ how long has he been brewing on THAT criticism? “ Which gets into a “ trust “ issue . So I have found that if something is needling me about something my partner does or doesn’t do , best for me to Either write it down ( my notes feature in my phone is heavily used ) or address it immediately. This way , if I get overtired over whelmed , am in pain or whatever causes my to not be respectful of my loved one in a moment… that what comes out is not so personal…. But more of a vent ( unladylike words ,,, complaints of something without feelings etc )..
I’m not usually the one that ends up on the dealing end ,,, more often the recipient, so I don’t end up apologizing as often as my husband does to me .
But … I have come to understand that he isn’t not always in tune with his body and moods and emotions( hangry is real thing ! ) as I am . And I accept that ..
But also , more importantly, he isn’t a talker like me and doesn’t communicate issues so the “criticism “ sort of get stuffed and come up in an angry matter …
So I kind of stay on top of him about “”that stuff and he seems to be learning this as well .
Results in much less “damaging” outbursts that an apology is more appropriate and acceptable for .

  10. Mrs. Linda you do what you like because you worked hard through the years and if you like to go out into the backyard or in any outside area in your home, you should. Forgive me please, but I don’t think you should apologize to anyone because you’re in your home site. So do it whenever you feel like wearing it. But if you live in a neighborhood where there is no privileges to be at home with whichever you want to wear outside than I don’t know where is the freedom. Mrs. Linda blue is the “in” color for me this fall and wherever I see a sweater that I can purchase, I will buy it. Blessings.

  11. They use those skinny candles in orthodox churches. You light then and put them in sand for a prayer where as in the Catholic Church they use votives.

  12. Loved every moment of this video. Products coming today❤ But would love to know about your gorgeous blue glass you have on the table. A life’s little pleasure for sure!! From one pj to another.

  13. Those "Spaghetti" type candles would look really cool as a group of say 3 or 5 in a beautiful bowl filled with sand….I use a Blue and White porcelain one in the house and a wooden bowl in the garden…..I just buy a bag of sand that is meant for a kids sand box…..then just stick the candles in the filled bowl of sand…no fuss no muss…..I do this with stick incense out in my garden as well to keep the mosquitoes away…..✌️💜💋

  14. Pajama time in the garden is my favorite but I do agree that it can be hard to go back in the house and get dressed.

  15. L O L! Going out into the garden in your pajamas that is so funny when I get up in the morning that’s the very first thing I do is go outside to check on the garden. Not half a day goes by but several hours. Just pulling up little weeds and deadheading as I go along on my van on Gardner path.

  16. Im a pj gardener, on a nice day, and i make no apologies, also i too have been known to lose my cool every once in a while and if that happens a too own it and apologize to him, he is a great man❤ your team is great and your whole property looks amazing

  17. Lol Linda😊 I've been caught in the garden wearing PJ s so many times. Every morning, as soon as day breaks, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. All summer, it had been so hot that we've been unable to garden in texas. Now that it's cooling, I'm feeling that old excitement again and I start getting dressed while it's still dark because I know I'm not coming back in soon. 😊

  18. Yes, yes! But three days a week I'm gone from the house at 6:30am. So the other days I grab my morning beverage and go sit in my patio chairs and enjoy creation, God's and mine. I don't or won't apologize. I just enjoy the peace and quiet. I will do alittle gardening before going upstairs to clean up. That charges my day.

  19. Linda I also go outside in my nightgown. I get carried away picking flowers, watering and weeding. My backyard is pretty private so I really don't care if now and then a utility meter reader finds me in my night clothes lol

  20. Yes, I run outside in my nightgown when I see my gardener show up. Not sure he’s ever seen me fully pulled together.

  21. Hubby and I are both retired. You are likely to find both of us outside in our pjs with a cup of coffee doing morning walk abouts. I am not ashamed to be seen.

  22. Ha! I had to laugh when I heard you talking about going outside in your pajamas. I thought that surely no one else was cray-cray to do this but me! My favorite pJ’s for my madness are cotton boy shorts with a tee. P.S. I love your window box.

  23. Linda, I do the same, I’m deadheading and weeding in my pajamas. I am trying to grow a hedge on one side because I don’t have complete privacy. Lol

  24. I really liked your life lessons this week… they may be my favorite ever. Regarding matches, I am scared of them weirdly but I do love the smell when they are struck. The pjs… maybe half the time it's not such a big deal. the summer is going away too soon and it won't be possible anyway.

  25. 🤔😳😲😂😂😂😂😂 Linda we should always wear our best pyjamas in case they have concerns about our dressing codes for the day.!!😂😂😂 💞🦋

  26. Just a quick note, the clear flower frog link was not posted. I am currently looking for a frog myself, could you please post link? I thank you kindly. 💕

  27. I frequently get outside early in the morning in my pajamas as well.
In your opinion what is the definition of a cottage garden? Is it more of the type of plants or the placement of the plants or what?

  28. Linda, vintage shops have those frogs, I collect them and just adore the ones I find. Everything looks lovely. You gals sure look sharp ! 💚🐝 🍁

  29. Linda, a candle needs to completely melt at the top, the whole top surface for the first time lit because candles have a memory. When people light a candle and then distinguishes it when there is just a little circle that melted the wax (on the FIRST time lighting it) that is where it forever will melt too, the wax will not melt past that circle.
Candles have a memory, so before you light it, make sure you’re going to be able to leave it alone until it completely melts the top, after that you can light it and blow it out as often as you please.
    p.S.
I make candles and love giving them as gifts, I also love ordering specialty matches from Amazon with birds on them, topiaries, anything you want really and they are added to my decor on a stack of books and a candle. ❤

  30. Really noticed how beautiful your new steps look. The planters with the lofty plants look so nice and the Japanese maple is in a perfe t spot .

  31. Oh my gosh, i get in trouble with my hubs because i go outside and NEVER come in all day!!!! He told me he has been depressed the last few days, i realize i spend all my time out in my garden and not only mine but helping my neighbors with their projects! Then i feel mad when i do come in after all day working, and i have to cook his dinner and feed the dogs! If i dont regulate my time i can end up feeling like a martyr too. I want to stay outside forever and never come in!!!!!!

  32. You have inspired me to create a candle-drawer, and for this I am grateful. In this video you mentioned a candle PDF; just wondering if there is a link for it, as I have not been able to find it on your blog or/ YouTube. Wishing you a mist beautiful September!

  33. Hi Linda: Just finished watching your Signature Style Saturday…it's so my favorite. I live in a small apt. in a small city in northern Wisconsin so I don't garden, but have a lot of plants indoors and decorate 95 percent thrifted finds, cottage core, grandma core. Fall is my favorite season of all. Amber glass, and…candles. I don't burn them in the summer, maybe on a rainy day. I haven't commented before, but thought I'd share my "candle" story. My mom used to tell stories of hobo's who would ride the railroad cars behind our farm. She had a reputation of feeding anyone who was hungry and send them on their way. That was 60ish years ago. We had bad winters when I was a child growing up, very cold and TONS of snow, often snowed in until the milk truck came and plowed us out. All that to say, when it started getting colder and darker earlier, she would put a candle in the den and living room window in the evening as a sign for anyone who had car trouble, stranded, would see it as a welcome to come to our home for safety. I've changed it for my life now as I'm up early in the morning while it's still dark…after time change. It's my Bible reading and praying time with Jesus. I light 2 tapers in my windows every morning as a symbol of welcome and warmth, never knowing if anyone would "see" it that way, but I do. It's also a symbol for me from Exodus 30:7&8 to use it to recognize the Presence of God in my home, that others may see His Light. And I also have September blue in my bedroom…love it. Take care. Julie

  34. Hi Linda! Just curious if there is an issue with your garden planner release as I pre ordered a few weeks ago and the date to release has changed three times.
Love all your content and how your videos have evolved! You guys are rock stars!❤

  35. This is me literally every morning. I get so excited to see my plants every morning and how they’re all doing. They’re like my little babies. I’ve given up on what my neighbors think. As long as my plants are thriving and coffee cup stays full. Lol. Maybe one day I’ll be able to really “adult” and start my day beforeeeee walking out to the garden. ❤🌸🌻🌱🪻🫛🌱

  36. Yes to PJ's !😮 So glad to know I'm not the only one. Love the morning and also ❤ midnight wandering in the moonlight.
