Digging up BIG ROCKS is the name of the game this week!

This is another restoration video of our historic house. We saw this historic house for sale that had wonderful stone masonry and was mostly a brick house. The Romanesque architecture was amazing for this cheap house. With the slate roof and the masonry repair we had to do it was a great renovating house. We have to cope with termites damage and termite repair. The stained glass and fireplace mantels were amazing. If you are looking for abandoned historic homes or abandoned places look no further. We don’t have any scary stories but a virtual house tour of the Mooreland House aka Mooreland Mansion aka Harrodsburg Castle aka Ashfeld Manor is a great place to follow.

Our DIY historic preservation videos are not necessarily how to videos. We get a lot of inspiration from some of our favorite channels like Wild Wonderful Off Grid, Pure Living for Life, Onboard Lifestyles, Mike Haduck Masonry and many more. We love our little castle on the hill.

  1. Those huge rocks sure looked like left overs from the cut stone facade of the house. So many with flat on one side and rough on the other. I wonder if they were cutting stone during construction to ensure everything was fitting properly into place?
Amazing job! You could have included all of the footage in a timelapse and it would have been wonderful to see the entire process.
Thank you for sharing this video with us🥰🥰
    See you next Sunday🥰🥰🤗🤗😘😘

  2. wonder if theres somewere you could sell the stones to ..but then again you could use some of them on the house if its needed

  3. Just Curious why didn't you follow the old water line in and trench right beside it think they would have gotten all the rocks out of the way but thinking logically like pilots always do humm

  4. Wow! What a job! Will you have to lay sand on the bottom to lay the water line, maybe even around the line, on so any rock left does not puncture the new line? See you next Sunday! Thank you for the vlogs!

  5. I wonder if that stone was just in the ground or if it was some kind of foundation, or some kind of garden, walkway, or something like that. Thank goodness you had that digger!😊❤

  6. What's going on at the neighbors? We think it's somewhere between Fred Flintstone working at the rock quarry and a Jurassic theme park. I totally see the rock quarry, Jurassic theme park? Yeah, see the big jawed thing? That's a TRex. They also have big bertha. Yep, total Brontosaurus. What about the smaller clawed machines? Raptors. And normal vehicles? For the tourists to ride through the park in. Oh wow, I totally see that, look there's an entry way just like the one in the movie.. Yep, told you, theme park! 🦖🦕 😁

  7. Too funny, when he pulled out that one rock I thought "that kinda looks like Texas" a split second later Frank says " I found Texas" !! And then Carrie says "I think you found the U.S. "…When the rock comes out, I thought "wow, that DOES kinda look like the U.S" just another split second before she says it!!! Made me laugh. Like someone else mentioned, it makes you wonder how they did things back when they built the place. What did that equipment look like? BTW, I've always wondered about how they built stone foundations for houses and buildings in the 19th century (and before of course). Too bad there wasn't filming technology back then to record it. I'm sure there are pictures, but I've never seen them. Hope you have a restful, restorative week!!!

  8. I have noticed a lot of the rocks are flat shapped. Do you think they could be remnants of an old rock wall or fence? Could they be re-used for a patio or walking path?

  9. You should be able to build yourself one HECK of a rock garden with what came out of that trench.. 🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨🪨

  10. Welcome to you. You've hit a real vein of rocks, and it's big rocks! Short-term work has caused so many problems. "Found Texas," 😁it's a good thing Frank's sense of humor doesn't leave. Without that excavator, I can't imagine what you'd do, it's not stones, it's stone slabs! Looking at this beautiful lawn, it is hard to believe that under it there is such a bed of rocks and maybe that is why the trees have shallow roots and fall over? You've made it through this tough stretch, congratulations👍! Minni likes rustling bags, too?🤭

  11. Frank you are doing a fantastic job with that machine. Great job you guys. Thanks for sharing your story with us 😊

  12. A lot of that rock looks like concrete. Did someone use this land as a landfill / dumping ground?

  13. With all that rock your finding you could build some amazing rock gardens and fountains.

  14. Late to my favorite Sunday video. Still fighting some sickness. That is absolutely insane how much rock and how big they are. But heavy machinery operations is something we can also check off your resumes.

  15. Hey Frank – Are you sure your name isn`t FRED? Reminded me of Fred Flintstone working in the rock quarry! I bet you're glad you had a digger and not a dinosaur! Great job. Well done!

  16. Wonder if you can sell your rocks to landscapers. You've done the hard work of getting them to the surface.
