This is my least functional and probably most annoying project to clean so far, but we’ll see how it goes long term! I always planned for some sort of garden under the stairs, and I’ve been wanting to bring more Japanese design into our home. Most traditional Japanese designs tend to look “old-fashioned” to Jun so it’s fun for me to try to integrate them in ways that feel modern to him while still representing a blend of our cultures. It’s made to be removable so if it ends up being annoying to keep up with we can easily just put the rocks outside in our garden. But the area is now nicely organized instead of the random item storage that it was becoming and we think it looks amazing!!

    Wait, I thought ficus was poisonous to cats. Does that mean I can have that gorgeous plant inside my house? It might depend on variety. I will check. It looks great 🙂

    Get a motion detector air canister. If you put it on the indoor garden it might dissuade Nagi from there. Then maybe put a litter try in that area nearby. Following the yes and no of Jackson Galaxy.

    My husband and I hung up a shoe rack with that tape thinking “It’s fine! We will never move it.” the place it was located became very inconvenient after a little so we decided to move it. It took the wallpaper and the drywall with it… it was a sad day.

    My betta fish, Flamenco, lived a little past 5. I'm not even sure why since he was a Petsmart rescue where they keep them in tiny cups and starved them, so he started pretty sick. But apparently 4-5 is pretty good for them, so rest in peace Thunder, you lived a good life.

    The house is looking more and more gorgeous!

    Ficus plant grow tall really fast. It already touching the top of your stairs. You should've gotten low growing shrubs.

    you should have put tons of food between the white rocks so the cats will associate the place with feeding and not with the toilet, if it smells like food they naturally wouldnt want to soil it

    Nice idea but if it doesn’t work you could put in a Perspex fish pond. Hours of fun for the cats and no doing their ‘business’ there….

    I have no idea why, but as much as I love watching DIY videos, it's been so confusing to see so many parts of your new house while not knowing what goes where, why no house tour when you're showing like separate corners every video? 😮
