One Yard Revolution: Not in Your Grocery Store #1: Good King Henry (Preserving Food Biodiversity)

One of the many things we enjoy about having our own vegetable garden is the opportunity to grow new and sometimes rare crops that you probably won’t find in your local grocery store. One of the many rewarding things about growing rare crops is that it enables us to support seed companies that help preserve the genetic diversity of our seed supply.

If you shop on Amazon, you can support OYR simply by clicking this link (bookmark it too) before shopping: http://www.amazon.com/?tag=oneya-20

Today, in the first of a series of videos, I feature perennial green Good King Henry.

OYR is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used.
