  2. SC here… I got killed with sqash bugs an green horn caterpillars and some other flying bug in my tomatoes. I plant in containers and a raised bed….2nd year. My question i am cutting down tomatoes to take the dump. Before i plant for Fall how can i be sure to get rid of all these pests!!!

I will go with ur shade cloths next year for sure. But what about these flying bugs and squash bugs and still the caterpillars? 😂

  3. Add Arugula to the list…plant September in Zone 7
Also last winter we hit 6 degrees one morning…all of the kale survived no problems

  4. Im in Wisconsin, if parsley is buried in snow it can survive any temp, -15 ive seen it withstand

  5. Sadly this is the hottest and driest year ever recorded here in Central Texas. It's been 100+ for over 2 months and since July about 105-110, everyday. We haven't had a single rain since July 1st at my house. Forecast doesn't have anything changing in the next 2 weeks. Even the ground is cracking and bowing from lack of moisture. Can't plant anything in that. I'm planning on starting transplantable indoors seeds on the 15th in hopes something will change. – Just to give you context on how hot and dry it's been, I have had established 2 inground olive trees, 1 inground fig, and several potted figs die. Also all of our oak and cedar trees have dropped a large amount of leaves and even have some die back. These are like 50+ year old trees. All of the inground crops including tomatoes, peppers, artichokes, corn, beans eggplants, and more, have all died. The only things alive are my potted plants that I keep in full shade.

  6. I am in S.E. Michigan, my tomatoes are a little behind this year, we are not getting full sunlight like normal, due to the wildfires in Canada, we are 30 minutes north of Detroit, a couple weeks ago, Detroit had the worst air quality in the word, due to northern winds bringing all the smoke, a few times last week, we could actually see the smoke in the trees and rolling down the street, we have had air quality warnings a few days a week. So yeah, a very unusual year, but the garden is doing pretty good. I will try some fall gardening this year, we are still hot and humid, so indoors and I should be able to put them outside in a few weeks, when we are pretty much done with the high 80`s.

  7. I am going to try snap peas for sure. Maybe beets, too. This is my first year, so I don’t have many containers, but I want to try at least a couple of things.

  8. Mid Oklahoma… I'm going to try to start. You give me hope, but here the heat dome has been wild! We had a week or two at 100 plus. My first planting of cukes kicked butt! Now the tomatoes are fighting for their lives, alas no shade cloth. I have peppers okra and tomatillos. We'll see eh?

  9. I'm in middle of N.C one of your videos I think you said you could grow potatoes in the fall. Is this so or did I dream it 😂 haha. Thanks for the advice about gardening.

  10. Thank's for opening my eyes to fall gardening. Here, in a zone 3, it is a little bit different but still….I will try lettuces, an other veggies in the grennhouse this fall for winter harvest. 😁

  11. I grow rooted parsley, they don't bolt, at least in my zone 6a. They reseed like crazy. Once you let it go to seeds, which is during the second year, you'll have parsley forever.

  12. Great video! Not only is it informative, but it is motivating me to see the big picture for planting this month for fall gardening/harvesting. I am down here in East Texas, a little further south than you, and been dealing with triple digit highs last week and now this week too. It is easy to become daunted by thinking of planting right now, but your video just inspired me to start some indoor seeds for outdoor planting later. Thanks!
Also, thanks for the tip on the Chinese pink celery variety. I have grown the green Utah celery, but they have been challenging. They like a very small amount of soil on top of the seeds and they are a tough seed so you need to use very warm water to soak them prior to planting. I have also grown celery from cuttings and found they grow quite large a second time around. I am going to try the variety you mentioned. 👍🤞

  13. I've discovered amaranth – green and red – heat tolerant, bolt resistant. Just needs a little shade. Quick growing, too!

  14. Thanks man! I am just north of you in Hampton roads area. How often would you fertilize your lettuce at the end of the month?

  15. I love your videos. You're a wealth of knowledge, and so down to eatth. Listening to you is inspirational & not intimidating. I'm in a warmer climate, so I will look to see what I should plant for fall gardens. The prices of fruits and veggies these days has me facing the facts that I not only could, but should grow my produce if I want to survive. Thank you!

  16. Southeastern NC here! Thanks for these great tips for our area!!! Love the content!!! I really need a lot of help lol

  17. I have Kajari melons growing from a late spring planting but no fruit have made it to ripening yet but I still have plenty of healthy vines. Am I better off to let them continue growing into the fall or plant new seeds?

  18. Love your channel dude, I'm new to NC. But I've been growing the asparagus bean here in NC, they grow very well .. im happy with these beans try them if you haven't already.. they are good and tasty

  19. Love you channel. Moved from Nashville , TN to Pace, Florida. Was very successful with my Maters and squash… Down here a different story. Planted early batch and failed. Using a raised garden. Starting over with 2 determinats and 1 cucumber. Planted a bush determinats a couple of weeks in pot. Doesn't look like it is growing. Watering every day and letting it soak thru pot. Should I let it dry out for awhile¿ Yes, put mulch in top. Just bought some fish fertilizer for new stuff that I’m planting. Suggestions or videos I can watch.
