In order to grow healthy tomato plants, you may need to fertilize your tomato plants. So in this video, I show not only what fertilizer I use for our tomato plants, but how much to use too. I also talk about how important soil testing is, so you fertilize your tomato plants the right way.

Here is the fertilizer I used on our tomato plants. (I make a small commission on my Amazon links)

  1. Do you think any of the soil tester gadgets that you can get at gardening stores actually work or does it need to be a send in test?

  2. Are you going to plant some companion plants. It may not eliminate the need to fertilize but could help reduce the amount. I’ve been experimenting with mulch method and adding compost on top and another layer of compost every 3 weeks as needed in an effort to reduce the need for any other nutrients. So far not bad but I did add some organic mix for what it’s worth onto the lunch to help break it down and make it available to the plants. Lots of mushrooms adding to the mix when the conditions are right and I think I have almost nailed it. I need to get a soil sample to know for sure.

  3. Pinch off those first flowers…it will encourage the plants to grow taller first. It's too short for it to grow fruit well
