  1. Kaye and Darryl, I love any kind of beans, organic and open-pollinated. Thank you for this valuable information I will use in my garden!♥️

  2. Do you know what green bean is perennial. Possibly a variety the deers do not like? God Bless, may you reap all you sow

  3. Love this. Can't wait to try some of these. Wish he had talked about green beans, as I am looking for a good tasting, prolific producer.

  4. great to see how passionate Daryl is about not only beans but seed saving in general. he makes some great points here in the video 🙂 keep up the good job

  5. Wow Darryl is very serious about his beans! Thanks so much Kaye for presenting Darryl's knowledge, research, and experience in growing so many wonderful types of beans. Wishing you both a blessed week and continuing fall harvest!

  6. I planted 4 mystery beans from last year. I thought they were bush beans. But they were Not! I had to quickly add a tall tomato tower as they exceeded my little trellis for bushes! They grew up 6-7’ & spilled over. They did better than the original pole bean last year!!! I harvested every 2 days & froze some & finally let them go to seed! I have an abundance of seeds. @My other 3 mystery beans were bush filets & are giving lots of seeds! Exciting!!! Feeling rich!
Thanks, Darryl & Kate. Good Encouraging Video!
    JClaire God Bless!👩‍🌾💕

  7. Love this video! I am all about the beans. I want to build up my bean production – I want to have lots of dried beans stored. I tried purple hull peas and scarlet runner for first time this year. I have much to learn, and found your information very helpful, thank you both!

  8. Lots of great info here! Honestly, I try to grow what I know will work here in the N. FL Panhandle, and very rarely speculate. This is mainly a budgeting thing for me, as mine is like a tourniquet. Lately I've had to plant heat tolerant varieties of things, because the Summer temps have been brutal for the past couple of years, and I need to can enough to last until I can harvest more. Darrell, I am doing a little planning for my Spring garden, but most of my efforts are on my Fall/Winter garden right now. This is our best season for brassicas, English peas, carrots, onions, and many other things y'all plant in the Spring. I learned early on that what I did in Virginia, and what I do here to grow food is not the same. Heirlooms struggle here and need LOTS of attention because we don't have enough cold days to kill off pests and diseases. I plant potatoes in mid-February, and have tomatoes in the ground by April 1 – Most of my Spring/summer choices are planted by the mid to late April, and that's if we have a colder than normal Spring! By the end of May, it's just too hot for many things already established, and not much to nothing gets planted here in June, July and August. LOL, it's a different world here!

  9. Kaye, you should contact Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds about your uncle's seeds. There is a lady from my hometown that did that, and now they are selling her onions. 🙂

  10. I knew I'd be taking notes on this one. I had the same experience with Winged beans this year, my first year. Adjustment needed.

  11. Fun video! I would love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ to get my hands on some of the Granymeade Tennessee Beans. Pole beans are my absolute favorite thing to grow. They do so well here in my climate zone 6a east of KCMO. Red Chinese Noodles and purple podded pole beans are my favorites so far after 5 years of growing them both, way better than Kentucky wonder which is what I grew for years and years when I used to just go to the local hardware stores for seeds. If you need someone to grow some of the Hopi seeds I would love to try them. That is a very fun experiment. What a cliffhanger, must tune in to next season 2024 harvest to see what colors of beans did Darryl get? What color did Kaye get. How many people get this excited about beans? 🙋‍♀️

  12. Thank you for a great video! I love beans and especially Lima beans! I’m always trying new varieties, but feel like I never get the results I want. This will give me a base to start from and see what grows best in my area (northern Illinois). I’m going to rewatch the video and take some notes, because I am already planning my garden for next year even though we’ve still got summer weather this year in October – LOL!
