  1. Grass and crunched up leaves ate great for the garden. We use both all the time. You mentioned that you planted onions. Im in NY, Zone 7a. Should i be planting them now? I wasgoinv t plant them in the spring. I'm new to growing onions.

  2. Thank you for the info! I know this is gonna sound strange, but I compost in place with my fabric pots and so far it’s been working great, however I’m thinking of implementing your layer of sand at the top because sometimes it brings gnats, so my first layer at the bottom is a bunch of old dried grass clippings second layer is Green grass clippings in the third are some kitchen scraps, sprinkle with worm castings, cover with soil, then mulch 🌱💪🍓

  3. Timely video. Would like to share what we do. I layer grass clippings/leaves with bedding from the chicken coop with leftover compost from the previous year – yea! Lasagna compost! Also add garden waste as available. Great upper body workout flipping it !!! Garden gold!
Thanks for all you do and share with us

  4. It is the middle of October, and the temperature has dipped down to 40F (4.5C). I am still picking peppers every week to ten days, Sylacauga Alabama, zone 7B. This morning’s harvest has been posted on your Facebook page.

Last weekend, I sowed seeds for Hilton Cabbage, Purple Top Turnips, Tokinashi Turnips, Golden Detroit Beets, and cloves for Elephant Garlic and grocery store garlic. I also up potted seven comfrey sprouts which will be transplanted into my herb garden in the spring. I have turnips and Late Nagasaki Cabbage (Giant Pak Choi), and a few Super Sweet cherry tomatoes that are ready to harvest.

I also have five tomato seedlings, three Tiny Tim, and two Early Girl-bush that will be ready to transplant into my poly tunnel in about a week. And I finally got my Danvers carrot seeds to sprout. Will my garden make it through the winter this year? I’m better prepared for a multiday hard freeze this year, so I Am betting it does.
