What’s going on?

It had the big leaves that are the bottom now and the ones on top ( second largest). Then it bloomed, flower went away. The new leaves in the middle started to pop so I stopped watering to absorb the first set but now another set of leaves is showing up… How to proceed with watering and is that one will just pop up as new “twin”???

I’m not totally sure with pleospilos. However, I know with lithops when this occurs you just sorta get an extra plant out of it. Four lobed instead of two. It’s a lucky event, like having twins! Again I am speaking for lithops.. but they’re cousins so! Maybe similar.

Looks like some type of Dinteranthus. Possibly D. wilmotianus or D. microspermus. Could be others too.

As u/GoatLegRedux mentioned this is Dinteranthus microspermus. I have the same species and it has done the same thing. My advice is don’t water and let it split. I will share a picture of mine later on since the little growth (like on yours) has actually produced two heads this season, the whole plant being a bit of a monstrosity (you can see in my post history). Key point is mine was fine with no water so I’d suggest the same.
