Hi Toni, not sure if you or others in the group are aware, but the National Center for Home Food Preservation has changed the safety guidance of recommended head space for canning chicken. It was increased from 1 inch to 1 and 1/4 inches. This is due to changes to the feed etc. they are doing to chickens. The additives create giant “Franken-breasts” which means they charge more because the chickens weigh more. Well, that also causes more liquid to be released during processing. So, without the added headspace, there are more sealing failures due to excess siphoning. This change to headspace occurred around 2021, but unless someone bought the newest edition of the canning book, or regularly checked the website, there would be no way to know about it except by word of mouth.

WAR – WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
Coming from a generational military family, I dipped my toe into conflict through contract security. Other relatives of mine signed up and actually went to war. Even though my experience was limited, it was intense. When you are heading down-range, you can't see the thirty thousand foot overview. You remain on task, with your head down searching for 'the enemy'. Warfighters and warfare in general are just the extension of political ideology, by other means. It is this ideology that becomes the paramount progenitor of conflict, as either side imposes their will, forcefully, onto the other.
So what is the benefit of war? Well, there are no benefits…unless you are a weapons manufacturer…or engaged in money laundering, through black market weapons sales, kick-backs for support, or paying off dictatorial leaders. There are also certain agendas that would benefit from war. For instance, if you wanted to depopulate our planet, war is a good way to do this…and not just through fatalities on the battlefield, but though the collateral damaged produced civilian casualties from weapons fire, sanctions, power outages, and privation of essential goods and supplies.
War gives leverage to the powerful elite, like weapons manufacturers, as well as leaders and players within our government. War time measures could be put into place, thereby giving governments the control over their people, to take anything they so choose to put toward supposed war efforts…for your safety…right?
The immediacy of war detracts from governmental shortcomings and scandals, focusing people's attention on the fear and atrocities that war brings. Coups can be formulated through war, utilizing a 'wag-the-dog' narrative that the government is either incompetent or negligent, thereby emplacing a new leader who is more in alignment with that of their supposed allies. War casts aside the sensible, making possible anything they want us to believe, in their agenda.
Remember – 'Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.' – And war always produces atrocities.
Love your prepping videos and attitude. The thing with preparing is if in time of need a person is not going to have to worry as much. If anything else you save money as the prices are going up. Personally i do not watch main stream news and only get my share of things from truthers on YouTube that i trust and find less anxiety and lies. Thank you once again for an amazing video.
This post really touched me! It felt like you were speaking the words many of us are feeling. Yes we do need to keep prepping. With me it's been a way of life for the 52 years I've been married. I have recently however been aware of some glaring holes in security. So I have more work to try to do. One of my motto's is Do your best, don't sweat the rest!
We do all of our shopping at the beginning of the week, and I carry a concealed pistol, and keep my rifle with spare magazines in my private automobile, complete with first aid, etc…
Dont forget a jug of not drinkable water flushes the toilet once.

Toni one thing I make from my canned chicken is meatballs. I just add what I would to ground beef even though the chicken is already cooked and then roll it into balls and bake til warmed through it is very good.

It seems we are far too easily weakened with division and set to fighting and f@cking each other to ever begin to practice let alone achieve the Win/Win.
With the Ways of the Win/Win, there are no elections, no popularity contests, no "races" where only the winner has the right to rule. What utter bullshit.
Only people with the proven ability to practice and achieve the Win/Win advance to the highest tables of power and they could be anyone, … well, besides myself that is.
I'm far too perverted by my ancestors special brand of self inflicted retardation so I bow out and good and decent people who can practice and achieve the Win/Win will be able to do so without my corruption getting in the way.

I have heard that they are considering putting us in rationing for food, gas and other things. It will be by card and not the stamps like years ago. Be ready because I believe it is all coming very soon. And yes I think they are going to control us by our electric supply as well. This is just a rumor but I heard that they will allow us to have electricity only a few hours a day. I am hoping that these rumors are not true. But the way things are going they very well may be true. Be ready as best that you can.
A couple of years ago, we started buying coffee that was on sale. What ever brand. If we like the brand on sale we buy 2 or 3 or if its a brand that's okay but not great, we buy one.
Thank you Toni, for another great video. I can beef roasts and hamburger, but I have not tried canning chicken yet. I have many cans of chicken breast so I have not had a need. As this supply dwindles, I will start canning chicken since it's what is eaten most in my household.

I’m concentrating on more protein types of canning; meats, fish, etc. I think that they will be in very scarce supply if things “go south”. One thing that I’ve been concentrating on is to refresh my memory on depression and wartime cooking recipes. It’s a good way to determine your needs and perhaps give some ideas on what areas to think about, with possible shortages and rationing. Just some thoughts! Have a blessed day!

My son has gotten 3 deer so far this year and my adopted son has gotten 2. And i got some venison out of 3 of them so far. I canned a total of 27 pints of venison and i split it 3 ways so we each got 9 pints for our pantry. They also gave me some burger for the freezer. I also went shopping today and got regular hamburger, some chicken breasts and sone other meat. Now i put all that in the freezer for now but i will can it when the time comes for me to need to.

I'll be canning pork loins, strawberry jam and nectarine jam for the next couple of days. Don't want to waste anything so it has to be done. Fortunately, my sister will come over and help me because I have a broken arm. Its hard to can with one arm when your used to 2.
There is always a winner and always a looser. On a smaller lever, you don't give your life and lives of your family, your home, to someone who broke in. You protect yourself and call for help. Same with countries. When it's someone's home, they have no other place to go, so you protect your own. Countries have allies and enemies. If you don't come for help when your allies are calling, nobody will come when you will need help. As far as armies go, someone once said that those who are reluctant to feed their own army shall feed a foreign army.
