  1. Amazing video. Love this so much. Counting camera angles. You guys are so great. Thanks you. Tree's are so beautiful. ❤

  2. I have a Catawba crape myrtle first year did great lots of blooms. This year only new growth was from the suckers bottoms and no blooms at all. Any suggestions?

  3. So glad you are able to travel to so many wonderful places and talk plants! Thanks for your responses about who you are visiting and why. 🙂 Safe travels and enjoy!

  4. QUESTIONS: thank you for touching on soil tests. I was hoping you would answer the problem I have but it did not come up. I had my soil tested and I have high levels of phosphorus and potassium and they recommend that in the spring I put down only nitrogen. They did not give me any more information. I had it tested by the local ag. agent. I live in East Tennessee zone 7A. My plants suffer with looking chlorotic. Is this a symptom of the high phosphorus and potassium? How do I correct this problem? Or do I even need to correct this problem? Thank you so much for all the information you put out there. I have been following for some time now and enjoy watching yours the most because you put out so much of a variety of educational information in every video.

  5. Question: what material could be used to create a berm in a new bed? I noticed Iseli nursery has most of their plants in elevated beds.

  6. Here in North Alabama (zone 7) we have had very little rain for the past few months so I have been using my irrigation system to water. As the various plants go to sleep for the winter, how long should I continue to run my sprinklers before shutting it down for the winter?

  7. Great Q&A – thank you! I have a big question. I purchased two northern red oaks online from a TN nursery. They were topped to fit the box and now they are growing multi-trunk. Can I grow them as a shrub? Does anyone in here have experience with this? I know I’ve heard of it, but haven’t found any info yet online. Thank you!

  8. Question, we have a Vander wolf pine, zone 5, Michigan, been in the ground 5-8 years but it’s limbs are quite bare, the tree is not full of needles like when we purchased it, what have we done wrong?

  9. I've been dying to know the answer to this ever since I heard you mention it. You mentioned going to see Dead and Co. in Raleigh. Are you a hard core deadhead and for how long? I've only been an avid gardener for a couple years, but have been a wildflower seed on the sand and stone for much longer 😉

  10. We did our fall clean up on 11/4/23 and noticed the daffodils are coming up! We live in 7a Tennessee and we had our first cold snap for 2 days (10/31 & 11/01) and this happened last year when I had planted the bulbs in pots and I covered them with soil and they did not push up in the spring. I think I killed them. What else should I have done? And what should I do now for the daffodils that are pushing up in the ground? I look forward to your answer. Thank you for your question and answer Sundays, I appreciate them so much. Learning something every time I listen. Thank you bunches!

  12. Hi Jim. Question for you: I recently planted a viburnum that had loose roots because the pine bark that it was planted in totally fell apart when I took the plant out of the container. I think it was in a 3 gallon pot. Should I be concerned about this or should I have done something different when I planted it? The plant seems healthy but I did have a tough time mounding it because of the lack of root ball. I might actually go back and try to position it a little higher… thank you as always for your informative and inspirational videos👍🏼

  13. I live in zone 8a. What plants should I grow for pollinators in winter? Do I even need to worry about that?

  14. Question: I’m in Oklahoma, zone 7a. I bought a couple flats of pansies and just planted them, but I would love a lot more pansies. I’m going to order seeds to help fill in my beds more. Should I sow them directly (if so when), or start them indoors (I have my own grow lights) and then plant? If you suggest I start indoors, when should I start them and then plant outside?
