Why do people eat random plants & mushrooms? Didn’t know this had to be explained… sense sure ain’t “common”

That is 100% liriope, it pops up in our garden regularly. Doesn’t look like scallion greens at all to me, at most maybe something like Chinese garlic chives.

There are toxic plants that resemble the allium family (onion, garlic, chives). The key indicator of allium is the smell. If it doesn’t smell like allium, it isn’t.
