I Build a Modern Timber Frame Gazebo | My DIY Masterpiece

I transform an empty space in my yard into a massive covered gazebo. I filmed a start-to-finish timelapse and you will see what it will become! I built this alone, with basic construction knowledge. If I can do it. You can do it. Subscribe and join our world of DIY projects!

This video is a testament to unconventional craftsmanship, where creativity and determination bring a neglected yard space to life. From the labor-intensive process of digging holes and meticulously crafting wood joinery with mortise and tenon joints to the awe-inspiring raising of the timber frame structure, installation of rafters, roof lats, 12v lighting system, polycarbonate roofing, gutters, and the painstaking work of excavating, leveling, and creating a stunning paver patio. Every step, including sanding and staining the wood, was infused with passion and dedication. The end result is a breathtaking gazebo that elicits a resounding ‘WOW’ from everyone who steps inside.

  1. So cool. I need to build something like this to block my neighbors view of my patio.

  2. Cool project and many cool solutions. Though I don't like the middle column in the front. Was there no way to avoid it? Maybe a slightly hidden steel beam up top?
Was there any calculations done by an engineer before building?

  3. Probably saved a bunch of money doing it yourself. But the satisfaction and spending time with your family is priceless.

  4. Wow, what a great video that was a treat to watch… As a DIYer, I appreciate it every grunt… Man, you gotta get some eye protection, bro. That sawdust, and shavings from the wood will really jack up your eyes. Great video I subscribed what a monumental project that turned out beautiful.

  5. Respects. Thank you for sharing. Are you able to be more detailed on the tools and types of woods you are using. It will help for some one that is new to building 😅

  6. Everything perfect. Only last detail – rain pipe:)) need to go under stones 😉
Like that I was watching myself. I also did something similar 😉

  7. absolutly perfect project! congrats!!! just a little detail: Rain water is an important thing. > maybe you must to consider catch de rain water because you have almost the entire system resolved!

  8. you would think after the second time of getting wood chips in your eyes you would find a solution to keep that from happening again😂

  9. Nice project !
This is exactly what I would like to do, except that doing it alone is really obnoxious! The finishes are stuning.
    I have two questions:
1/ what do you think of the roof structure? In the wind, is it strong enough so that the panels don't move?
2/ In terms of heat underneath in direct sunlight isn't it too hot?
I'm really looking forward to seeing the fireplace.

  10. Very nice job man everything look clean and detailed the only think i will change on mine is that i will use T1-11 just because i love it but everything else will be the same cuase is absolutely beautiful and perfect

  11. I built a basic pergola for our yard recently and was stunned by the amount of work you put into this! Not only the pergola itself but all the concrete leveling around the pool and pavers, it's a staggering amount of work. My pergola build was maybe 1/2 the size and didn't require even 25% of the stuff you did, and I am still putting finishing touches on it. Extremely well done!

  12. I had trees cut down in my yard. Most were oak trees. Atleast 30 years of growth. The estimates I got were from $7500 to $20,000. These home contractors really make people do the DIY thing when they get a crazy firet quote. It took me about 5 different tree companies before I got the best quote.

  14. Looks amazing. Great to see involving your kids too. Must have been fun for them.
