Gary Pilarchik: Tomato Profile: Matina – A German Heirloom, Early Indeterminate – TRG 2014

The ‘Matina’ tomato is a German potato leaf heirloom. It produces fruit in about 60-65 days after transplanting. The flavor was good. Tomato acidity with sweetness. A keeper in my garden. It handled high heat well and also set fruit at higher temperatures. The books say it gets about 3 inches across and weighs 4-6 ounces. I found it gets 2-3 inches across and comes in at 3-5 ounces. It has some meat to it so I think it would be good for canning, sauces and general use… like eating with some salt!
