The question is, can it withstand a 6.4 and 7.1 quake?!!! Nice work.
How is insulation done in between the concrete foundation and a building blocks to avoid water absorption from a blocks side upwards?
ty for video keep sending
Can I go work for you at least one day… Ill do it for FREE. I just want to learn firsthand how to lay a slab and do a wall. Im in Chino.
Laying block and buttering bricks is a real finesse job. I filled in a 36" gate opening on a 60" wall and it kicked my ass! Getting the right mortar consistency then applying a consistent mortar bead, ahh forget about it. Came out nice but dang son, that's something that takes some experience. Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
👍🏻👍🏻
😎👍👌
Nice
Enjoyable view, before I put the light out, for the night.
thumbs up from indonesia,
Looking good brother … hope to see the next episode soon..
Great work Chicon and gang! No permit needed if under 3ft?
I do mostly interlock but I occasionally have had to mortar some things. At what point do you use type s over type n? Do you really need type s for such a small wall? I mostly only mortar pool caps (type n).
That's solid with rebar grout joints…looks great!
i got a blue long sleeve from you guys and its become one of my favorite shirts!
Me gusta 👌🙂
Hey David Odell, how do you go about getting your permits? Do you have a dedicated staff member or do you get them yourself
He went to breakfast😵
Mr. Odel, I will one day will like to meet you.
how long will a wall like that last? before cracking and maintenance?
it looks nice, but it's set too far back.
Excellent work👍😍
Why wouldn't you bond the piers into the wall the 2 straight joints don't look great?? You would of got away with all the half cuts aswell!! Just simple stretcher bond. Your concrete jobs are the best I've ever seen so sorry for picking but as a bricklayer the walls sending me nuts 😂.
The homeowner needs gutters and maybe a drain or two.. all the rain runoff from the roof.. Where's the water going to go
That's great idea and safety
How much do you charge to build a block wall looking for quotes
If homeowner is making the top of each column a planter, why not run sprinkler pipe inside wall? Now if they want automatic watering, it's have a drip hose or small pipe running up the outside.
outstanding!!!
great work 👍🏽I LIKED🇺🇸
Great seeing workers that know what they're doing, thanks for the video.
I used pruning/lopping shears for roots in foundations, the small ones at least.
Hi sir, your videos are great! I am looking to put up a small concrete block retaining wall in my backyard. Starting out @ 4ft them stepping down about every 8 ft. This will be my first time working with concrete (footer & block). I was hoping you could answer a few questions for me.
Can my entire footer be level. I want to start 4 blocks high and end 1 block high but making sure any water runs away from the house to the pond.
Should there always be a little bit of a gap between the blocks on the first course when you lay it into wet concrete?
And recommendations on how to make a slight turn in the wall?
Do I need to install rebars if the wall is 2 feet tall?
My husband and I came across one of your videos this weekend and spent the rest of the weekend watching most of them! Mr. Odell you are very good at explaining the details and your work shows you are a man of integrity.
Can you build a similar wall on an existing slab? This is a great video thanks for sharing!
Thanks. Great video.
Why were the blocks placed over wet concrete? Wouldn't the blocks "sink" a little and affect the level of the base wall ? Thanks.
ITS A NONO TO STAND WITH HANDS IN POCKETS WATCHING MEN WORK.
