We hiked the Kumano Kodo in Japan! 🇯🇵 This ancient pilgrimage route is a must-do on your trip to Japan. Beautiful landscapes, culture, delicious food and Japanese history, it’s a hike to remember! Interesting fact: we booked this trail extremely last minute, just a few weeks before our start. Impossible a lot would say, and yes, we had to make some adjustments to our route. But still, we had the best experience and we loved every minute. So, join us on our beautiful adventure in Japan!

  2. I am also looking at doing this trail. I am so glad you did it and you started from a different location than Takijiri-oji which also gives me an option to do it different.

  3. Finally! Nice to relive a portion of the trek. I did the trek the other way from Takijiri to Nachii.
    Stayed 2 nights at Yunomine with one night at J-Hoppers. Pretty nice hostel. I was there during cherry blossom season and the Tori Gate at Hongu Taisha was sorrounded by Cherry blossom trees. Absolutely beautiful!

  5. 熊野古道、九州地方の日向(現在の宮崎県)から、天皇陛下のご先祖である神武天皇や八百万の神が、大阪湾にはびこる海賊を避けて和歌山県新宮に到着。原始林や藪をかき分けて、奈良の橿原まで歩いた路が中辺路です🏞️だから、熊野古道が世界遺産なのです。那智の滝は日本一の落差のある滝で、神様とされています。神道で言う神様は、大きな滝、巨大な岩や木🌲山⛰️自然なのです。お二人は、約2680年前に古(いにしえ)の神々が歩いた路を体験されたのです。山の中でも、自動販売機があるのはビックリしたことでしょうね😳しかも温かい飲み物がある🤭日本の鳥居⛩️や神社の建築物は、朱色(orangecolor)なのは、魔除け(不浄なものを遠ざける)を意味します。
