Love my greenstalks! They are awesome for herbs, leafy greens, and strawberries.
That’s my jam! Love it! I wish I had indoor space for a couple of mine! Ohhh mint! It’s a naughty plant in a GreenStalk! 😂
indoor gardens-smart!!!!!
Anytime I buy grocery store herb plants, shortly after they are home they get some sort of gnats that absolutely destroy the root system. Especially Basil. I think they come home with them, but I can't ever be sure.
EXCELLENT ♥️🎄
I am currently growing some of your leafy green seeds in my Tower Garden indoors just another option for growing indoors vertically : )
Really enjoyed the live yesterday. I didn't get an order in and didn't win a prize but count myself a winner for catching it because it was a lot of fun. Merry Christmas to you and the entire Migardener family.
I have never had luck with them
Q: Grow in a tower or grow in a stadium under lights.
That's my question.
I love my greenstalks too! I am still growing lettuce, green onions, chives and strawberries and its the end of December in NE! I use their white cover each night like a greenhouse and keep it outside up close to my home for warmth.
You need to fill each tier all the way to the top. It is very important
My future garden. 🪴Thanks for the soil advice. 👍
I love Greenstalks. I own four of them. They are wonderful for herbs. A lot of failure with Greenstalks comes from the fact that people don't add enough soil. Raise your soil level to just under the rim to about 1/2 in . There should be a fill line. It helps the water distribute evenly. Can't wait to see how this goes indoors!
Love this idea! I started with 2 greenstalks this year with your strawberries but would love to know if growing inside would work!?
We often have difficulty starting seeds in the greenstalks, especially in the lower tiers even if ther is nothing shadowing them from above.
They are great for strawberries!
We have two Greenstalks. One is near the back door – herbs only in that one – and the other is new and being used as part of our winter gardening season. I haven't tried using one indoors, but I think it would be quite doable if you have the right lights. And the Greenstalk people have some of the most excellent customer service which I have ever experienced.
I have three unused in the box green stalks inside the house and think this will be fun to try. Last year I tried kale but I didn't keep on top of it and they didn't grow they just kinda stayed the same size all winter. The year before that I grew lettuce indoors in winter and it was beautiful, but very bitter.
I missed seeing the top reservoir placement when you were done planting. That key element to watering, along with the disks between layers, is what makes the Greenstalk work so well for me. Did you notice the optional drain hose for the bottom? I'm thinking that would be very helpful in keeping any overflow off indoor floors. Please do fill soil to top of tiers for best results. I am looking forward to seeing how your indoor trial goes! Many thanks for your great videos and wonderful seeds.
Experience here: if one is buying potted herbs out of a grocery store produce department, before transplanting unpot and cut off the rotted roots! I have yet to find produce department herbs that weren't in soggy pots.
To me those planters look like a lot of work. The soil would need to be amended and I’m sure the layers aren’t light. Great for balconies or small spaces, maybe out on a patio. I’ve heard they blow over.
I love the idea of doing this indoors, but where does the water run off go? I'm assuming you have drainage in the floor. I can't think of how I could do this indoors, even with the drainage hose that comes with the system. Any suggestions?
Does he have a link for these grow lights anywhere? I looked but did I miss them or has he spoken about them?
You should have filled the pockets with more soil. But, I do love my green stalk. ❤❤
What kind of lights are you using indoors?
