Edible Gardening

We Built 10 Edible Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida

Daystar Life Center in partnership with Bayfront Health created our Seedlings to Neighbors program which aims to increase accessibility to fresh and healthy produce in our community. The program walks ten families through a garden build, planting, and harvest season with the support of a compassionate and skilled team. Participants have access to a one-on-one mentor, a licensed nutritionist, and garden experts that are readily available for support and encouragement.

Each garden is intentionally created to accommodate health needs and preferences specific to the household, and participants join Daystar Life Center alongside their families for monthly events to further promote agricultural education throughout the entire process.

Follow along our journey in cultivating curiosity for healthier Nutrional choices, recipes, and garden tips!

So this morning volunteers from dayar Life Center were able to come out into the community and work with our um neighbors to build organic vegetable gardens in their yards will increase accessibility to food but it also allows for a community to bond together we provide necessities of life to help

People move ahead and advance towards Financial stability I heard about the program because my neighbor introduced me to it she said you know there’s this program Kar they will help you in your community and they’ll help you get started we’ll take an individual who’s in financial crisis and work with them

To provide all the wraparound Services they may need to grow from crisis to stability we actually work with the Community member and help them bring themselves out of crisis with our partnership sometimes you have to give yourself extra nutrients to make it so that you flourish so I thought that

Would be something that I was really interested in so I think that having a garden is going to help me pay more attention to myself and my Environment
