The Secret to Beating Summer Garden Worm Pests #garden #vegetablegarden #squash #gardeningtips #grow

Listen up gardeners – Its not you its SUMMER. It is very difficult to grow squash, melons, and cucumbers during the summer because of increased pest pressure (especially worms) for many of us in the southern parts of the United States, zones 8 and up. Please don’t feel discouraged, or like its your fault. I don’t recommend you grow these crops during the summer unless your experienced and are ready to battle the constant influx of pests. If you don’t want to deal with all of that, then grow these crops during the fall and spring when pest pressure is naturally low. I say this because I see tons of posts all over social media from frustrated gardeners. I don’t want anyone having a bad experience that will keep you from continuing your gardening journey. Just know, summer is the most pest pressure intense time of the year and its normal to struggle. Don’t give up!
