In mid-November, I visited Expo’70 Commemorative Park to see Autumn leaves. The park is beautiful at all times of the year, and I even purchased an annual pass so I can visit as many times as I want. The rows of maple trees at the park’s West gate have changed colors.
Maple leaves create a beautiful, dreamy carpet underfoot. This year’s Fall season has arrived later than usual and appears colder than previous years. We planned a picnic, but the cold weather prevented us from staying outside long. We just walked around and admired the Autumn leaves for a while.
At the end of November, I returned to Expo’70 Commemorative Park. This time, I visited the Japanese garden located in the park. In Osaka, there are few places to see Momiji (Japanese maple leaves) compared to Kyoto. The Japanese Garden in this park is one of my favorite spots.
This area is called the Medieval Garden, a Zen-style garden with several teahouses. We visited the “Hanan” and “Banrian” teahouses. You can come to enjoy the tea ceremony or just to see Momiji. The brilliance of Momiji in the sunlight is simply stunning. I never get bored of looking at this scene.
We went to the Spring nearby. We were lucky to see a great egret. This area was designed to reflect the image of the sea. The stones standing represent islands, the stone paving in the foreground is reminiscent of a sandy beach. It was the best time to see Momiji here.
From the Spring, you can hear the sound of water flowing from the nearby waterfalls. Many Japanese maple trees have been planted to recreate the landscape of a maple valley. It feels like a natural stream, not an artificial one. The natural beauty of this place is breathtaking. It’s so tranquil.
I walked along the stream and enjoyed the view. The Camellia flowers have started blooming. Along the stream are many Japanese maple trees with yellow and red leaves. The Japanese garden wasn’t crowded even though it was the weekend. The Expo ’70 Commemorative Park spans about 260 hectares,
With many activities, Japanese gardens, museums, Flowers Hill, and more. I highly recommend visiting this park if you’re planning a trip to Osaka. It is definitely worth visiting! Right in front of the Japanese Garden is the Rose Garden, Many rose trees were gifted by nine Countries, each with a wish for peace.
Although May is the best time to see roses, there are also many rose varieties that bloom during the Autumn. The sweet scent of roses wafts in the air. Enjoying nature in the Park really helps to alleviate my stress. In early December, I took a day trip to Minoh Park to see Autumn leaves.
We will walk about 3 km from Minoh station to Minoh Waterfalls. Numerous Momiji flanked the road leading to the waterfall. You can walk along the stream while admiring the scenery of yellow and red leaves. We try a local snack called Momiji Tempura (maple leaf Tempura).
Maple leaf has no taste, but the snack is crispy and somewhat sweet. The store sells many adorable souvenirs. Autumn leaves reflecting on the calm surface of the water is truly beautiful. We lingered to admire this beautiful view. On the way to the waterfall, you will come across Ryuan-ji Temple.
I came here in early December, and more than half of the yellow and red leaves have fallen, The temple yard still has a carpet of red leaves like this. There are many food stalls along the way. We tried Oden and fried chicken. Crispy fried chicken is tasty。
We continued walking and admiring the scenery. Yellow and red leaves in the sunlight are brilliant. Occasionally, I saw wild persimmon trees, and camellia flowers trees. My husband helped with filming today. Even though a lot of leaves have fallen, this place is still vibrant. The Autumn leaves are layered on the mountainside.
Just raise your head and take a look at the foliage. You will be overwhelmed by the scene before your eyes. The clear stream with emerald watercolor is beautiful. We’re nearly at the waterfall. We have arrived at the waterfalls. There are still a few Autumn leaves left. The reflected sunlight creates a beautiful rainbow.
The area near the waterfall has many food stalls. You can enjoy local food while admiring the picturesque view of Momiji and the Waterfall. This coffee shop has a nice view; I want to visit next time. Minoo Park is one of the most beautiful spots to see Autumn leaves in Osaka,
It’s not too crowded and only takes about 30 minutes by train from Osaka Station. I highly recommend Minoh Park to those who want to find an Autumn destination in Osaka.
