  2. QUESTION Gary, are these seedlings for transplant this May or just educational plants to show folks how to grow? I’m sorry if you answered this question in the video, I have not watched yet. I plan on starting onions this weekend, zone 7A. I’m going to fill a tray with soil like you showed us last year instead of using cells. Do you still recommend that?

  3. What is your average last frost date? I apologize if you said this and I missed it. Knowing this would be helpful so we can make changes based on ours

  4. Gary, I have scrolled through many of your videos looking for info regarding the aluminum foil placed over your grow lights. Would you please explain? Thank you.

  5. I’ve been experimenting with planting potato eyes. 2 years ago my uncle sent me a sweet potato slip and an eye from a regular potato. I grew the eye inside for a couple months then planted it into a 3 gallon pot and put it outside when the weather was warm enough. I got 9 good sized red potatoes and 6-7 good sweet potatoes. My purple potatoes, sweet and regular started sending off eyes and slips so I popped the 1-3 inch eyes off and put them 1/2 in 3 inch pots, one in a 2 liter. The one in the 2 liter has 8 inches roots I can see. All the others are leafing out great! I’m also now in zone 7 and I’m thinking about planting some outside under tubs, and some indoors in the south facing windows with supplemental light. I never knew potatoes would grow from just the eyes and you can still eat the potatoes.

  6. Thanks for the video. This year, I'm starting seeds in my new greenhouse. I don't have the ability to have grow lights though. Hoping on the 🌞

  7. FI have some pepper seeds that are either not germinating, or are being very slow, Sweet Banana, Jalapeno, Yellow Monster, Corona di Toro-yellow, ands Hungarian Yellow Wax. The hungarian -yellow wax, banana, and yellow monster did well for me last year. They are on heat mats with a thermostat regulating the temperature between 75F-80F. I'll give them another ten days, then sow seeds for more bell peppers which had fantastic germination. I also had problems with Martino's Roma germinating, 1 seedling-ten seeds. I have other extra paaaaaaalants that I can grow in its place-Thronburn's Terra-Cotta. My onions are off to a fantastic start, and I just sowed another batch yesterday. Over the next few days, I will be up-potting seedlings, sowing more pepper seeds, Swiss Chard, Mustard, tatsoi, basil, and dill. In about three weeks, I'll be direct sowing seeds for parsley, chives, Malaga Radish, German Giant Radish, carrots, and golden beetroot. Probably other things too, but I'd have to look at my garden plan to determine what I'm planting this winter and spring. It took a while to show, but the last artic blast did damage my turnips, and I lost a few, but overall, they are recovering and putting out new growth. Growing them through the winter in my polytunnel was a success. Oh, my cherry trees arrived last Saturday night, and they have been planted. I have room for two more fruit trees, and am considering a Honeycrisp apple and a Fuji apple. That will complete my orchard.
