I’d say this experiment went well.

Don’t fixate on all the “techniques” while leaving out details of the ***light situation*** – change/don’t change water, let/don’t let cutting scab over, tap water, distilled water, rooting hormone/no rooting hormone – all great suggestions but here’s my report: I cut off a bunch of my snake plant leaves and immediately put them in this flask ***and left them near a window getting 100-400 foot-candles for most of the day and no direct sun***. When I saw the water level get down to about 1cm, I added more water directly from the tap. I took the cuttings in December 2019 so this took roughly 3 months.

Pay close attention to your light situation and all the things you do will probably work better.
