Day 3 of @the_rhs National Gardening Week. Foliage can be equally as pleasing to look at as flowers & often provides a calmer more textured approach. If you’ve got a bit of shade & like leaves (the kind to look at but definitely NOT eat) then give this combination a go. Clockwise from top Left: Dryopteris erythrosora, Heuchera ‘Obsidian’, Athyrium niponicum var. pictum, Hosta ‘Halcyon’. You might need to Nematode the Heuchera as they are absolutely loved by Vine Weavil and keep and eye out for slugs & snails on the Hosta but gardening wouldn’t be gardening if there weren’t jobs to do!
