Hey guys welcome to my channel Tokyo Foody Sarah where you can explore Japan with a Japanese local in today’s video I’m going to give you a quick update on the Sakura cherry blossoms for 2024 let’s Go so this year it was estimated to full bloom at around late March so around this time actually I am filming on the 27th of March today but because it’s been quite cold in the past uh few weeks the cherry blossoms are kind of like oh

It’s too cold it’s still winter so I shouldn’t Bloom yet kind of thing so look at this we don’t have any blossoms blooming right now so today I am taking you around hamaru Gardens which is a very stunning Garden in the middle of Tokyo and it’s

Meant to be a very famous place for cherry blossom viewing not yet though so you can see that these branches um these are not blooming at all yet and they’re very green I would say different organizations are giving different predictions but um it is expected to fully Bloom at around like 5ifth of

April so we still have a week left if you’re arriving to Japan during that time great but yeah I guess we’ll have to give it a few more days or even a week to be able to look at cherry blossoms and enjoy them fully [Applause] my cracked despite not being able to see any blooming cherry blossoms I enjoyed a peaceful stroll around the hamaru gardens here’s a quick background on hamarikyu Gardens located in central Tokyo it offers a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese landscape design and Modern Skyscrapers originally built

As a feudal Lord’s Villa during the Edo period hamarikyu is renowned for its seawater ponds that change with the tides and it’s well preserved tea house where visitors can enjoy a Moment of Zen with matcha green tea as you wander through the winding paths you’ll be greeted by seasonal flowers that bloom

Throughout the year providing a constantly changing landscape there’s also a space full of Plum blossoms but Plum blossoms are even earlier than cherry blossoms so they are all gone the flow Garden was filled with rape seed blossoms when I Visited my microphone wasn’t working when I tried to film The outro so here’s the voice over Sarah to end the video I hope you guys are looking forward to the actual cherry blossom season because I will be reporting back to you in future videos until then please like this video

  1. Thank you so much for showing me spring in Japan. The spring flowers are out in Ohio usa also. Beautiful blue spring flowers.

  2. Sakura season is wonderful. Looking forward if you’re going to share any limited time items from cafes or restaurants. 🌸

  3. Nature has it's own timing…a young tree in my back yard wasn't budding at all a few weeks ago, thought it died, but now it has green all over!

  4. Sarahさんこんばんは!ようやく春が来ましたね🌸私の九州の地元ではほぼ満開状態で見頃は今週末まで位です☺️Sarahさんはもちろん、桜を見ながら大好きなお酒の組み合わせですよね🍶🤭

  5. I hope during my trip to Japan next year (17 March-April 11) the Sakura will be a bit more accommodating. But since most of my time will be in the Chūbu region it could go either way.

  6. It was a early 🌸 season here in NYC 🗽

Thanks for the video! Always interesting and well done 👍! 💗 🇯🇵

  7. Speaking to my girlfriend in Japan, she said there was supposed to be a cherry blossom festival this weekend in her town, but, alas, not blooming!

  8. Is there anywhere between Shimbashi Station and the garden you recommend picking up a little picnic food and drink?

  9. Nice park, and great video. Nature's ways are mysterious, I'm sure we're going to have a beautiful and great video full of blooming cherry blossoms next week or so. Looking forward to it already. ☺👍

  10. Yes they have not bloomed at all just yet and they have never been like this!! I wonder climate change or even the cold weather affecting them!!??? Hopefully they will start real soon and are alright!! 🙏🙏🙏

  11. Appreciate this very short and helpful new video too please do more like this and please give more information about the Sakura!! 🫶🫶🫶

  12. Thanks for the update, Sarah. Despite the bare trees, you can really feel that the spring is approaching and it is a wonderful feeling. By the way, you could have a drink there by the trees and we would not see any difference from your face and the absent cherry blossoms. 😉
Jokes aside, it seems very unpredictable when the cherry trees will bloom for someone planning to go to Japan partly to see it. Sometimes it is earlier than usual and sometimes it is later, which should be considered the usual when you think about it. It would be pretty creepy if it happened on a specific date every year. 😊
Luckily, Japan is so far from Europe that you should go there for at least two weeks and not for only one week, which gives you at least some room for minor deviations. With my job, I don't think I will be able to go for that long this time of the year though, until I (hopefully) will be retired in about 30-35 years. 😢 On the other hand, by then I have hopefully saved enough money to go every year for the rest of my life. 😃
