A giant coriander plant stands tall at 2.7 meters (8.10 feet) in the verdant kitchen garden of Yilobemo Erui and Seyieneinuo, at New Wokha Village, under Wokha District.
Speaking with Seyieneinuo, Erui’s wife, she shares their journey of the extraordinary herb. She said the coriander seed was planted in October 2023, and to their astonishment, it grew taller each passing day. Seyieneinuo emphasized that they followed organic cultivation practices, eschewing artificial fertilizers. Despite their annual tradition of growing coriander, this particular plant defied expectations and soared to unprecedented heights.
Visitors have flocked to witness this botanical wonder, yet no government officials have arrived to officially authenticate the remarkable feat that could potentially secure the Guinness World Record for the tallest coriander plant globally.
