I found some mutants on family land and I'm wondering what y'all think about how to go about propagating these. The first is a Texas Yellow Star (Lindheimera texana) with a 6 petalled flower, the plant also has a standard 5 petalled flower at this time. The second appears to be a Golden Eye Phlox (phlox roemariana) that has no purple pigment.
Do I just disect, collect pollen, and store dry until I find a matching mutant? Pollinate with pollen from standards and pray one of the resulting seeds has the mutation?
