Plant Propagation

Succulent props from leaves, when to plant? Advice?

Do leaf props root themselves or do you plant them once the roots reach a certain point? Current roots in various stages for example.

Don’t plant, just keep doing what you’re doing. The little roots will find their own way into the soil. Eventually you can gently pull off the original leaf or let it shrivel up.

For all of mine I usually lay all the leafs on a tray with a thin layer of coco coir. Give it a nice little misting and set them in bright light. Once I notice roots or a baby succulent starting to grow I get a Lil more permanent ( atleast for a while ) nursery pot . Use my finger press a little hole in the soil. Lay it in and brush a little soil over it and the roots. I also leave the mother plant attached until it’s shriveled and paper this. So the baby gets all of the nutrients to grow.
