Yanked this out of my snake plant. The roots look dead so I figured I could put it in water and have it grow some new ones… Is this right? Or would I have to cut them up first?
It probably can grow new roots in water, but you could also put it directly in soil to grow new roots. No reason to cut it up. Snake roots just kind of look like that.

I would put it in soil. They tend to rot in water
