Use sharp, clean shears to cut a 5–9 inch segment from a newly blooming stem at a 45 degree angle. The cut should be just below a stem node, which is a bump where new growth usually forms. Remove any flowers or flower buds along the cut stem. Dip the bottom of the stem in rooting hormone. Fill a pot or cell tray with moist potting mix and firm gently. Make a hole nearly to the bottom of the pot, and place the cutting in the hole. Gently firm the soil around the stem. Place the cuttings under a humidity dome or other plastic cover to retain humidity. Water from the bottom to keep the growing media evenly moist. Keep cuttings in a place with moderate temperatures and indirect sunlight until good roots have formed. Cuttings should root after 6 to 8 weeks
