we’re going to have some fun today I going to show you three backyards that are completely transformed and the trick is they were all done from a budget friendly perspective I’m going to give you lots and lots of tips to show you how you can accomplish some of these backyards as well as tell you the materials so that you’re not spending a bunch of time in research and I’m going to tell you how much it costs if you’re going to do it yourself or if you’re going to hire a pro let’s go [Music] welcome if you are new to the channel my name is Bobby K I’m a professional Landscape designer and gent contractor and I want to help you make your backyard look [Music] incredible we are on the first project I want to show you what’s going on here first thing is many people have a deck and the decks start to go this house had a deck that it was just time it was time for an overhaul so what we did was ripped that out and we created a big beautiful P patio area now here’s where I want to start getting into some nuts and bolts this is on a clean Rock base we don’t do sand the other thing is picking out a P that is going to pop and is budget friendly this is called Enlighten it’s by a company called called County I absolutely love this because they’re 2 and 3/4 in thick they are good quality paper and they got a beautiful color blend so the reason this patio and this P went this direction it’s got a nice sailor border going around is because it is on the lighter Earth Tone side if you look at the color of the house that was very purposeful why we went this direction you can go all different types of directions but Earth Tone made sense so when you’re picking out a patio make sure you pay attention to the P color size and quality next thing over under the Gazebo you see we’ve got this elevated planter this is out of a product called versalock This is a Bethany and the reason we went with that is it’s a little bit lighter on the Earth Tone and it is a way to add balance and extra seating so if you don’t have a lot of space this is a smaller backyard you can sit down on here and we’ve got underap Lights Under the Treads of the stairs and under the C here so this lights up at night it’s got an Ambiance and the best part about this whole thing is this gazebo everybody wants to make sure they can enjoy their investment and if you’re getting blasted with sun that’s kind of hard to do so by having a covered structure now you can have outdoor dinners you can hang out you can have friends over it opens up the space best part about this gazebo is you can get it at Sam’s or you can go to Costco and get kits like this this thing’s only like 1,500 bucks 1,500 bucks right so all in if you’re going to do this yourself you’re probably going to be around 8 Grand if you hire a company to rip out the deck build this buy all the materials put in the paper patio put in the Landscaping got the seating wall this is around a $25,000 investment however when you got a house that steps out into this and it’s TurnKey like this this actually adds value to your house let’s go to the next project [Music] all right we’re at the second job site and before we get into it all I ask is you smash that like button that is how I know you’re enjoying this content and if you want to be here for next week and get more of this stuff consider subscribing now let’s get into this bad boy all right let’s get into some budget friendly tips I got a lot of them here okay first one I want to talk about transitions you see how I just stepped on that stone how we’ve got some big pieces of Flagstone over here the reason being is pavers cost money hardscaping costs money if you can soften the place with larger beds and then have Stepping Stones as transitions you might only spend a couple hundred bucks versus thousands to bring this patio over even more because it takes a lot of Labor it takes a lot of work a lot of material to do that so let’s talk about the patio now this P right here is a Roman Holland Stone and what I love about it is the Simplicity of it but it goes with the architecture of the home this is kind of a historical Vibe and the great part is this is the most cost effective p on the market at least that I can think of versus the county in the last example is going to be a little bit more price per square foot so When selecting your material consider the architecture and the color but this could be a perfect option for you the final budget friendly thing that I want to talk about is how to lay out the rest of the yard instead of making this big massive patio we’ve now increased the footprint of the the actual landscaping and the side side doesn’t cost a lot of money pavers do so we’ve got all of these beautiful curves we’ve got sporadic planting doesn’t have to be overdone and they can always add perennials annual all this color to this as we go and then down here we carved in this retaining wall to create another level instead of Paving that or doing pavers down there we’re going to do a decomposed Granite it’s going to be a little Zen fire pit area that’s only going to cost a couple hundred bucks in Rock versus thousands in Pavers the final thing that I should mention is this all started with removing a deck so there was a little bit of demo involved in this but we have the steps to to transition down to the patio area which is set up on purpose for a fire pit a lounge area a little table over here and then of course it’s softened so how much does all this stuff cost if you were going to do this yourself you’re probably in around the 5 6,000 marker as far as the materials if you’re going to pay a company you’re going to be around that 20K marker let’s go on to the third one [Music] [Music] all right we’re on the third one hey remember smash that like button this one I love because it’s simplistic I want to talk about color and shape hence the patio really all this is is a rectangle but it works perfectly for this place we got a linear run and if you look at the color of the pavers and the color that they painted the house it’s perfect this is about County this is called Timeless and it definitely has a lot of earth tones in it but because of the house it’s really pulling that gray but what would we do we didn’t go with a darker like we typically do we actually went with a lighter sailor border so we got something called Vision right here if you wanted to go darker they have one called reflection but I love this combo what’s so cool about this is this is just a basic patio but if you want to enhance your P you want to Splash it up this is how you do it we start with the design we’ve got your typical dining outdoor loungy kind of or this is the dining area now we got the lounge area now this is what’s really cool the gazebo in number one was from Sam’s Club this furniture is from Sam’s Club and I’m amazed it is beautiful it’s got these wood finishes it’s got this awesome cushions I love the color the color goes perfectly with that so pay attention to your furniture and finally we’ve got this Brio or you could get a solo stove which is a smokeless wood fire pit which I think is fantastic so we’ve got these simple lines which is going to cut down on labor because it’s easier than making a bunch of Curves for a patio and cutting away the excess and burning up cash so what does all this cost right for the Pao the demo we had to take a tree out we’ve got some landscaping and we’ve got some Landscaping on this we took down a little seating wall we were all in for this whole project around 20 grand if you want to do it yourself you’re going to be in i”s say around that 8 to 10 marker so you just got to weigh what makes more sense for you but I love the DIY element in here that the homeowner took on by selecting the furniture selecting the fire pit and making it their your own so if you want to learn more you want more videos you want to see right up here this is where you go go hit this playlist I got tons and tons of good stuff there this is Bobby K saying creation is everything so go out and create [Music]

  1. All three are beautiful, but who has that kind of money anymore? Pls provide ideas for single parent homes on single parent budget.

  2. Bobby I love your design, I work for a public school in Mesquite, Texas. I would love to see your design ideas for a school garden… Thank you for all the tips that you share in your channel!

  3. Loving the ideas for smaller spaces. #1 was my favorite with the half wall/planter space as extra seating and lights tucked in. Thanks for all the work you put into these! Very helpful.

  4. Bobby, I like all these backyard design ideas, simple on a budget. #3 is my favorite, linear shape and cool neutral colors, with the lighter patio pad border that ties in well with the house colors.

  5. Love this video! Nice to see the yards "in person." It makes is easier to visualize these ideas in my own yard. Thank you for your hard work making these videos

  6. Thanks Bobby. I always enjoy your videos and I love the great tips you give to us. 😊

  7. Nobody has the same bid… you can't say this is what it'll cost cause pavers down south is different price then pavers Midwest or west. Prices different in every area which affects cost everywhere.

  8. I got a question, My front yard slopes up and to get to the backyard that same slope is level for a few feet and then slopes down to the backyard. I'm just learning about transitions so I had the idea of making a doorway with a 5 by 8 gazebo. What do you think?
