Join us at Jason Reading Landscapes as we bring a transformative touch to Wallsend Public School, creating a vibrant and engaging outdoor area for students to enjoy. This project not only enhances the school’s aesthetics but also enriches its cultural and community values with the addition of a yarning circle.
What is a Yarning Circle?
A Yarning Circle is a sacred and traditional space used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for centuries as a place for learning and storytelling. It’s designed to promote respectful and open sharing of stories and knowledge, strengthening community bonds and fostering mutual respect among participants. In this project, the Yarning Circle serves as a culturally significant feature where students can gather, share, and grow together, reflecting the rich heritage of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
Project Details:
Watch as our team meticulously designs and constructs this meaningful space. From the initial design phase to the final touches of construction, every step is aimed at creating a functional and inviting outdoor environment where children can play, learn, and engage in meaningful conversations.

Why This Matters:
This project is a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also serve as functional areas for learning and community building. [Music] we’re just over here at WM public school just creating a yarning circle for the school so we’re just digging our holes for our Timber logs to go in couple of beaches and upright loger seats yarning circles are getting pretty popular in schools now the initial plan was a little bit smaller but we’ve decided to grow it a bit more pretty much twice as big now but it gets more people around and involved I always enjoy doing school jobs pretty rewarding to see the kids come on and use the space and really enjoy it [Music] oh [Music]
